i have a 92 SR5 hilux 3L diesel, i went through a really deep mud hole and got stuck. Got pulled out etc..

im now having brake problem, brake pedal is rock hard and seems to be getting no vacuum to the booster, chased the hoses back to the alternator and still no vacuum coming from there either.

HELP please lol

If you are pretty switched on with disassembling and putting back together, Id say the vanes that produce the vacuum are full of sh*t and need cleaning out or replacing

@CONROD you mean vanes as in the alternator? because that is where all the vacuum lines end up.

Potentially, but you will need to systematically check each component in the vacuum assist circuit to confirm. Throwing parts at it will only cost you money.

Hi there,

Check if you have bent any lines or you got dirt or mud somewhere between in the brake calipers and the pads. The brake pistons might have been stuck if rubber boots are teared off, so you will not get vacuum in the system.

This is what those pipes attach to and feed your brake booster Notice the vanes, they are more than likely only made from fibre,so any sh*t that gets drawn in will score the hell out of them, Only a thought to help you pin point the problem, but if you have checked and you have no vacuum from the lines coming from the pump, it points to it needing a once over, easy enough to pull apart and check the internals, but as trentmeyer stated if you are not 100% what the problem is, its all too easy to spend replacing what don't need replacing
