Hi all, I have a 2011 kun26r 3.0Lt diesel SR5. It has developed a loud hissing sound that gets louder as you put the foot down and goes away when off the gas or reached cruising speed. It is there when accelerating from stopped and seems to follow the waste gate workings.... more gas more noise. Definately air getting sucked in from somewhere?

Any ideas where to start looking?

Thx

Is it lacking power?

Air wouldn't be getting sucked in under boost. It would be blowing out.

Yes definitely lacking in power.

Found problem.......the rubber short boot from the turbo to the inlet of the intercooler is ripped where it gets clamped at the top. Did a quick bandaid and all fixed.

Must have been torn when injectors was serviced. New boot on order.

Thx for your help trent.

That's exactly where I was going next. Glad to see it is a simple fix.
