Hello,

I have a 2011 HIlux and my phone connects to the stereo but only for media, I can't get call audio to connect. Does anyone know the trick to this, please?

Thank you

Hi Trent, yes, contact sharing, phone calls and media options are all turned on for this Bluetooth connection. I can't see any General Settings for Bluetooth in my phone.

Cheers

I would un-pair and re-pair.

Does it say connected or disconnected on initial load up?

Are the calls registering on the unit at all? If they are and you answer with no audio, there is also in-call volume control, which is adjusted during the call only, via the volume knob.

I have paired and unpaired several times. It always says it's connected just fine but then while music is playing through the car stereo, if a call comes in I can only speak through the phone, not the car bluetooth.

I hate bluetooth. It's so fickle. It's possible you have an outdated bluetooth protocol on your head unit there. If you have followed the pairing steps as outlined in the user manual, then what I said could be the issue. How old is your phone ? Check your user manual to see which bluetooth protocol it will be compatible with.
The phone makers are to blame for this. All tech gadgets and their applications have a shelf life where they get dated and stop supporting them so new ones can be created to take their place and either or gadget will require replacement (upgraded) just to keep up with silly new stuff.

I have the very same erratic problem with my 2011 Bluetooth unit.

Everything used to work,..Bluetooth with my music list straight through the cars audio system, I could send and receive all phone calls on hands free, the scrolling worked,......then almost without warning, my send and receive calls refused to work and I have erratic success with my music working when it feels like it.

I have un paired,..re paired,...un paired again,..paired again,...turned the whole thing off and on so many times that my finger hurts........yet it STILL wont work properly.
