grey smoke on startup - possible injectors issue

Hi all,

Noticed a grey smoke coming out of the exhaust on my 2005 Hilux d4d when the nose is facing down and after reading around the Internet concluded it is likely the common problem with injector seals. My car has done 150k on the clock and haven't had any engine issues before noticing the smoke yesterday.

I am looking for a decent, thorough mechanic that knows about this common issue with early d4ds and knows how to fix it in Sydney area as currently on a Holiday with my family.

Thinking about to buy the Techstream cable and check on injectors myself,... or if someone around Katoomba or Western Sydney would offer to check it for me would be really appreciated.

If you have never had the seats done then you may be able to get it done under warranty at a dealer as we did a few of these for a little while. If not your symptom does seem like the seats leaking but Techstream won't show you anything about the mechanical leak. Easy way to tell is If you drain the oil and there is evidence of carbon on your oil pickup. Should be done at every valve clearance inspection (every 40k service)
