1994 Hiace Commuter: Driving without a radiator cap..

I have a 1994 diesel Hiace Commuter Bus and I unknowingly drove without a radiator cap..

How do I tell if I have damaged my motor?

On my way home from getting a service..

I drove 9 km then the car was off for 30 minutes then I drove another 9 km and the car was off for 45 minutes again then I drove 4 more kilometres then the car was off for 20 minutes then another kilometre and a 10 minute break..

After 8 more kilometres I pulled into my driveway which is when I noticed a little bit of faint smoke slowly coming out from under my passengers seat so I checked it out out and found the radiator cap missing.

Have I done irreversible damage?

Any advice would be really really appreciated.

Hi Kaili.

I hope you solved your radiator cap issue OK.

I am wondering where you got your bus insured? My son just bought a 2000 Commuter (joining the van life fraternity ;o ) for which he is not having much success finding an insurer.
