Intermittent start issue

Hi All,

I have a 2006 Hilux 4x2 v6 4.0ltr .

Having an issue with starting after short drives.

Always starts first time in morning no problem, but when I go for a short run, come back to the car it cranks but doesn’t fire up.

This last for 5-10mins, then all of a sudden it will fire up.

So far, my garage is at a loss to solve the issue. It’s had a full service, and

I have so far replaced the battery, all filters, alternator, ignition coil.

But still happening.

Fuel pressure is okay, although garage had the car for a week and typically it started every time with them without a problem.

They are now saying I will probably need to change the car ecu!

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, or possible suggestion????

Don’t want to throw more money at it if it doesn’t fix the issue!!!!!

Cheers,

Kkwall36

Suggestions only, symptoms appear be those of fuel vapour lock or a leaking fuel injector.

You could try using fuel injector cleaner to the tank.

Hi, I have the same problem with my 2006 Hilux Twincab. Very frustrating as I have had several "mechanics" test and inspect it to no avail. I use "start yu barstard" to start it but that also gets frustrating. Have you had any solutions yet?? Any help at this stage will prevent me from insanity,
