So the new to me 2007 Aurion has a new trick, on the expressway it is smooth as silk but as you decelerate at round-abouts or stop signs the steering wheel begins to shake, it is quite a violent action too, as i have had the wheel balanced yesterday and the alignment seems fine I am guessing the rotors or pads are deformed. Ordered a new set $200 for rotors and not sure about price for pads but my mechanic is buying them for me so I will get them at trade price. As I like doing my own mechanic I will fit them myself, hopefully that will cure this nasty shaking.

Hi Rick. I would tend to agree that you may have warped front rotors. While you're in there, I'd also inspect the lower control arm bushings including your steering tie rod ends for play.

Let us know how you go.

Will do, I'll get a good look at them tomorrow when the tire guy has the wheels off

Fitted new rotors and brake pads and the shuddering stopped.

Great to hear! I had the same issue (albeit not nearly as bad) and new pads/rotors did the trick.

Definitely pays to stick with decent rotors (e.g. DBA) - won't guarantee no warping but certainly helps.
