No power to dash lights or starter button motor

Hi there.. would really appreciate some advice, few weeks ago alternator went, few weeks after, car occasionally cuts out of power, i'l open fuse an relay box under hood, press em all down, car starts. This is now more regular & few days ago the dash lights & starter motor, all working, but car didn't want to stay on. last night, no electric to dash or starter motor, so car wouldn't start. Elec seats, door lights still worked.

It's like a loose connection somewhere..

Hi Ally. Electrical gremlins can be frustrating. First thing I'd be checking is the work around the alternator. Are the connectors on correctly and other cables tight ?

 If you have the time, follow the wiring harness around the engine bay and into the relay box and check all the socket connectors. Check your grounding wires too. They could be loose. Inside the fuse & relay box there is a main connector spade with a nut. I think it's 12 mm or so. Make sure this is tight. 

Make sure you battery terminals are also tight.

It's very rare that connections come loose without some form of human intervention so have a good look around.

I was driving and noticed the dash had nothing no speedo revs all that no power to windows or heaters and altnator not charging I’ve replaced altnator still the same fuses are good what would be the cause
