So I have read so many pages from different sites looking for the answer to a much asked question.....where is the backing light (reverse) wire in the dash? Strangely enough on my 2007 Aurion Grande it is the red wire that powers the rear window curtain! Not sure why I would need to have that powered when reversing but I tested it a heap of times and every time I put the car into reverse I got my test light to come on. It still hasn't cured my reversing camera issue but at least I know it now has power.

That a safety feature. The rear curtain will drop when in reverse to enable clear vision through the rear windscreen. It's also the same on my 50 series.

OK sorry I mistook the grey block connector, the one in photo must be the old backing camera plug, it gives 6v only when car in reverse and has no where to plug in on new stereo, looks very similar to the rear curtain one and the aircon control plug but def not for them. Ureka I think I am onto something.

Glad you have something to focus on now Rick, yes the curtain feature is a safety issue in case it is up when going into reverse it lowers. So hope now you can sort out your reverse camera.
