Auto locking the car when you drive

With recents reports of carjacking around town it prompted me to try getting into the habit of locking all my doors when driving.  I wondered if it is possible through some sort of sequence to program the car to automatically lock the doors.

I found a website that talks about how to do it but I didn't work for me assuming as it would be for older model Toyotas.  I have a Toyota C-HR Koba Hybrid 2020 model.

Does anyone know if it's possible?  In the interim I've set up an automated voice using the tasker app to remind me that plays through the car speaks to lock the doors.

I thought this would be a standard feature on all or most modern Toyotas. My Prodigy has this lock feature as standard and it's a 2012 car.

As soon as you set off, all 4 doors lock automatically. Admittedly, I didn't know it had such a feature until I took the car out for its first test drive before purchase and was pleasantly surprised. Nice touch Toyota.

On other cars I drive, I always lock the doors before I set off, so it's just a habit I've formed and if your car isn't able to be programmed as such, such learn yourself instead of relying on tech to do it for you. You put your seat belt on before you drive off right ? Add the door lock to your sequence and your good.

Have the same car and request as Jane.

Unfortunately the "vehicle option" as shown in the corolla utube is greyed out and all those customised options are not available.

A car at this price point shouldn't have scrimped on this fundamental option specifically since it is available on other car models with much the same set-up and the Koba is top of the range.

Very disappointed.

Unfortunately, Toyota are getting really good at giving you less while the others give you more for the same price point. They better beware because you can find many Toyotaphiles will flock to greener pasture. I've had Hilux's in the past for company vehicles and it still astounds me how much less you get compared to the equivalent models of Colorado, D-Max, Triton etc. It is shameful actually.

I have been looking at Hyundai and Kia. The elephant in the room is the emerging Chinese Auto Industry and we have yet to get their better quality vehicles. After they have finished their consolidation phase of manufacturers, fine tuned their supply chain and dominated their home market, an invasion of world markets is predicted. I am guessing that by 2025, it will be happening.

In the meantime, a few boatloads of the new Tesla model to be manufactured in China being pre-sold at an introductory price of $30-35K will certainly disrupt the Australian market and cause some revised strategies in Corporate boardrooms.

My biggest bug bear is quality control. The Chinese are shocking at that and I'm doubtful this will change. Tesla has also got a horrendous track record for their quality control of their massively overpriced electric vehicles. They even go as far as developing proprietary tech that only Tesla will be able to service so you have no choice but to bow to them and hand over wads of cash.

I think I'll stick with a better known quantity for the time being. I would consider a Hyundai if it came to crunch time.

For the time being, My Aurion is trumps for me and I still love owning one.

Also have a look at YouTube videos by Sandy Munro. He is ringing the bell for what is coming in the Auto Industry.

Possible solution for this post might be to use TechStream or visit the Dealership.
