Electrical issue

Hey Gang,

 

have an 80 series with a small electrical issue. It relates to the horn and it only operates in unusual circumstances.

 

It only works under the following circumstances; 

• Steering wheel down hard right or left, or
• hazard lights on, or
• keys in ignition turned to accessories only, or
• driving and indicators are on

 

I have checked the battery, the horns, replaced the relay, checked the fuses.

The only idea i have is that there might be a wire trapped or wrapped around the steering column. 

Any ideas? or any tips about how i can fix it?

Definitely won't be any of these.

It's difficult to determine here, but it looks like a wiring problem somewhere. I wonder if there has been any work done to this vehicle lately or in the past. It could be more than one issue too. If you're not confident to wire trace and check some voltages, then give it to a local auto electrician to look into.
