Fixing a Blown Head Gasket Proper Techniques

I viewed this YouTube video and was impressed by the thoroughness of the presentation.

Certainly noted the disassembly and assembly techniques used by this professional mechanic.

Very methodical so that the right bolt goes back into its previous place.

Good reason for removing the thermostat while flushing the coolant system to remove so much contamination.

What I also got from this video was the importance of properly maintaining the coolant system. Not specifically stated but if this had been done then the head gasket material would not have deteriorated then eventually cracked.

Excellent video Ash. It's uncanny how much that guy looks like Aaron Kaufman, ex Gas Monkey Garage legend. Man he could be his twin 

Nice work for sure. You really have to be meticulous and organised when doing head gaskets for sure, otherwise you'll find yourself doing it again in no time.

Did you also notice the very poor casting quality of the head ?? It looks like polystyrene beads compressed together .

Just confirms when I say American Cars are rubbish. The quality control is terrible.
