Hello everyone,

I am looking to convert my 2022 Lexus GX460 7 seater into a 5 seater. To do that though I need help identifying the circled trim piece. It needs to be the black and not tan. The goal is to remove the third row seatbelts so that they do not snag when loading gear.

Thanks!

I'd probably just guess it's called a 'D Pillar Interior blanking plate' for non 7 seater variants. Have you spoken to Lexus ? I'm pretty sure they'd be able to locate that item pretty quickly.

Great! In the states they only sell 7 seaters, so Lexus would be of no use. Do you happen to know the part number?

I don't know the part number but you can try a Toyota dealer because essentially, your Lexus GX460 is basically an upmarket version of the Landcruiser Prado, so I would be pretty confident there would be plenty of shared parts and that D pillar plastic may well be off a Landcruiser too.

There are some youtube videos on the 3rd row seat delete you may want to investigate too. Just another option.

Let us know how you go.

Regards from Sydney, Australia

Do you recommend any Australian Toyota dealerships that could help me out with this?

Also, on YouTube, all the videos that I have found do not show removing and replacing the trim pieces.

Being a Sydney resident, I've had dealings with only a handful but the best experiences I've had, have been with Ryde Toyota and Sydney City Toyota. Give both a try and see if they can help.

Thanks again! I finally got the parts. Even though I had to order them from Japan, the guy’s at the Australian dealerships helped me identify the part.

That is fantastic news !!

I am genuinely happy for you as I can understand the frustration not being able to source the exact part you need.

Happy day !!

So I can confirm the fit as last night I removed the third row and pushed in the plastic blank.

Fantastic stuff Jack. It's always nice to get closure. If the colour mismatch bugs you, you can always have them vinyl painted to match the rest of the interior.

Cheers mate

What if we couldn't able to find the matching vinyl wraps?

Here's a photo of the inside. I spray-painted the pieces black a few months ago. Notice how the OEM black has a little blue in it.

Also, there has been great interest in these pieces on the American forums as we do not like the third-row seats.

This is the wrong forum to be flogging your vinyl crap. I mean.. wrap.
