Fuel evaporation

My Aurion recently spent 1 month in a compound and the fuel tank was bone dry and even after putting 30 litres in on my cruising range its displays 0 km.

Was it bone dry when it went into storage or do you mean the fuel dried up whilst in storage ?

If it had fuel is it possible someone syphoned the fuel out because these fuel systems are sealed so very little to no evaporation should occur.

Does the fuel gauge work ?
My thoughts are that the fuel sensor could be bad or it's gummed up. It may come good eventually or maybe it's time to service the fuel pump sender assembly and see if there's any crud. The fuel intake sock could also use a clean too.
