Thought I would create a thread which lists the weight of various parts and mods in the Corolla. I haven't pulled my car apart yet, but if anyone does it on the odd drag day occasion (or boredom) then would you be willing to weigh your parts? So we can have a list just like the Celica fellas do in this link. Even though a lot of parts will carry over, some parts will be different.

So far I have;

Stock

Interior

Jack and tray: 3kg

Tool set tray: 1kg

Spare wheel cover: 3.5kg

Pacel shelf: 1kg

(Leather)

Rear seat side bolsters: 0.5kg

Rear left seat back: 8kg

Rear right seat back: 12kg

Rear inside side trims: 0.5kg

Rear left seat: 3kg

Rear right seat: 4.5kg

Front passanger seat: 17kg

Trim behind rear seats: 1.5kg

Rear 3 headrests: 2kg

Gear knob: 0.6kg

Exterior/Mechanical

Corolla 'Talon' option rim: 8kg (6 spoke)

Corolla 'Incisor' option rim: ??kg (8 spoke)

Corolla 6 spoke rim: ??kg

Sportivo rim: 9.0kg

Sportivo tyre: 8.5kg

Rear anti-roll bar: 2kg

Suspension struts and springs (x4): 23kg

2ZZ axle back: 13kg

Taillight (each): 2.0kg

Intake (complete): 2.4kg

Front anti-roll bar: 5kg

2zz Front brake rotors: 15kg (pair)

Toyota Battery: 11kg

Flywheel 1zz: 7.5kg

Also if anyone has weighed their cars that would be useful, and if any mods feel like it they can go ahead and add stuff to the list.

I think the best weight reduction to is to lose some kilos around the waist.

I'll weight my 18 inch wheel and whiteline front sway bar tommorow.

Stock 1zz suspension weight 23kg (all 4)..i had to weight them to get a quote for postage...

HAHA... quick we need to lose weight... the suspension! :D :lol:

ahh... yeah ive got no weights, but the suspension thing amused me...

ooh wait, carputer... about 3kg in total... maybe... the screen and screen mount is about 200g, its crazy light!

coilovers are lighter I think ;)

i did say about the same! someone have the weight for coil overs? What about king springs?

As every gram count when trying to lose weight..its a good comparision...see if the coilover will weight more or less than the stock...... :P

i can't take that out, Ashley and I will lose our seat :o

thanks to Corey i no longer have a baby knob... and that weighs a few hundred grams.... :blink:

hahahaha!! true!! best weight reduction is still going on a diet...but for dave or weiwei... they are already very light :D

Ok we'll have to do a one on one one day. You wear your springbok jersey and I'll wear my wallaby one lol. No eye gouging tho Andrews style lol.
