2002 Avalon OBD ?

Hi all,

New member looking to sort out my Mum's car.

As far as I'm aware the 2002 Avalon I have here has an OBDII plug but is only OBD protocol?

So do I need an OBDII to USB adapter and then have to use Techstream on a windows laptop?

Is there another way around this headache?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Location Noosa QLD

Cheers Jim

2002 should be OBDII compliant. So it should work with most handheld scanners. If you want to go the teachstream route. It would be a better choice since it has more functions. Especially with for newer Toyotas.

Thanks the reply. OBDII did work but only a small amount of data. The only option is Techstream pre 2006 Aussie toyota's I believe. Thanks for your reply.
