Hi Guys

Does a 2008 Aurion Presara have a timing belt or chain and at what ks should they be changed.

Thanks

The 2GR-FE engine has a timing chain. If the engine is properly maintained with regular oil and filter changes using a quality brand name engine oil, then the chain should last the lifetime of the vehicle and not need to be changed.

Have a look at some YouTube videos. There are paint markers on the chain and they are indicators when they become faded/hard to see that the timing chain needs to be replaced.

Hi Gilbo, Yes totally agree with Ashley as far as 2GR-FE timing chains, if the vehicle is maintained well they will last and never need attention, The Video Ashley put up is well worth looking at and subscribing to The Car Care Nut channel as he is a superb Toyota Lexus Expert and explains things very well, he has quite a few 2 GR-Fe videos on various issues etc.
