Hi,

New member here so be gentle .

I have a 2017 VX and since I've owned it has a problem with start battery draining within 2 days . I'm the second owner  and it was always serviced by Toyota .

I've replaced both start and secondary battery with brand new and problem still exists .

Even taken to an auto electrician and he has spent hours trying to resolve this problem . He thinks it could possibly be in the Canbus system but he doesn't have the tools to test same .

Anybody experienced this ? If so what is it and how to fix ?

Cheers,

Rick

Have you tried disconnecting all power either by disconnecting both batteries

or disconnecting the main plug to the ECU - firewall on passenger side.

I own a 2017 vx & they come standard with only one battery the second may be an aftermarket add on I would be looking into how & were it has been wired into the system.

Also if the keys are kept close to the 200 the system dose not go to sleep.

Ok , auto elec has diagnosed fault as door switch wiring having a nick in it and shorting to body . Causes the door sill lights and under dash lights to come on and drain battery . He said it’s a bit of a bad design in that cables can abrade against body quite easily .
