So I did something stupid and went to connect a battery to my 2010 Hilux SR5 and connected the terminals the wrong way, the blinkers flashed and it was then I realised.
Now I have :
- No power windows

- no central locking
- no aircon/heater fan
-Speedo not working
-wipers not working
- no blinkers (but hazards work)
- 4wd & ABS symbol stuck on

The Ute still is able to start and drive.

I’m thinking maybe I’ve blown one of the  40amp fuse’s behind the drivers side fuse box ??
Can anyone help with suggestions? Also how to remove the fuse ? I’ve tried pointy nose pliers but can’t seem to get it to wiggle loose easily?
Thanks

Hey mate, sorry to hear that. That's a frustrating situation.

I suspect you're not getting enough purchase with needle nose pliers. Try using small bull nose pliers. It should just pull out.

What other fuses have you checked ?

Yeah I just managed to get them both out and they both look fine, seems the issue is somewhere else?
just checking other fuses under the bonnet again

Good work. I actually watched a video on youtube on that very part just this morning lol..

I had a feeling it might be that but you mentioned that it still started, which is weird, because that fuse is also known for a non start condition.

Here's a video I found that may help pull it apart.

Awesome, thanks for your help tony 😊🍻

I just tried soldering it and put a new battery in, but it still has the same issues but starts great!
so off to the Toyota dealer tomorrow to try and get a new fuseable link and hopefully that sorts it out
