I've been researching options (have read A LOT of forums and blog posts) and have narrowed it down to Engel, Bushman, and Dometic, but I'm struggling to make a final decision between brands before deciding on a specific model.

I'll be using this primarily for overlanding trips with the family that last 1-2 weeks at a time. Reliability is therefore my top concern. I'm also interested in comparing efficiency but I can't find anywhere that directly compares this between brands.

Any recommendations between these three brands? Are there significant differences in durability or efficiency that I should know about? Price is less of a consideration - willing to invest in quality if it means better reliability in the long run.

I can't comment on most of those fridges, but our 30 year old camper has an Engel fridge in it that still works perfectly, both on 230V and 12V.

Today's quality may be less than that of our one.

Wow, 30 years! You'd have to be happy with that.
