G'day all,

A back story of how we got to this issue as it started off as a fuel delivery issue but I've managed to make it worse... the car, recently acquired second hand sits around most the time, so i started it up and let it run for 15 mins when suddenly its started misfiring/ chocking and sounded like it was going to stall, id apply a bit of throttle and it would choke even more. i turned it off, went to turn it back on and would crank energetically but not start, I realised that i couldn't hear the fuel pump priming. went to the fuel pump and which the connector has 3 wires, with ignition on i would get 5v from the yellow coloured wire(assuming fuel quantity indicator), but would not get 12v from the other wires( powering the pump).

footwell fuse box I checked all fuses in the engine bay and under the foot well but specifically IGN, ECU-IG, ECEngine bayU-B, POWER, EFI, AM1.

All were fine, I've then began looking for the circuit opening relay and found this...

Circuit opening relay and fuel lock control (LPG)

Now, previous owner had an LPG system and did a half assed job of ripping it out, thus there is still a switch inside the cabin that lights up but is always left on petrol, and the check engine light is on the dash and as you can see there is still this Fuel lock control unit designed to cut power to the fuel pump when on LPG mode.

So i assumed this may be at fault. I began testing if the relay to the right was receiving the 12v signal from the fuel lock control module by unplugging it and testing it with a meter,

Green wire (86) coil ground, Black wire (30) 12v power in, Red wire (87) power out to pump, Yellow wire (86) coil trigger.

with ignition on, the black wire was receiving 12v however the yellow wire was not, i also applied 12v directly to the relay at 86 and could hear the relay clicking.

my mistake came when I decided to bridge 30 12v power in, and 87 power out to the pump in hope to hear the fuel pump turn on. my friend was helping me at the time and decided to crank it as this was bridged, this has shorted the ignition and now the car wont even crank.

Battery is charged,

all fuses checked again,

starter relay checked, 70 ohms resistance and clicks when 12v applied, applied 12 v to the terminal where starter relay goes and could hear the starter motor engage.

So now I've got two problems fuel and ignition, Id take it to a auto electrician but I'm in a remote town with 3000 people 8 hours drive from the nearest major city. Is it possible this wacky little aftermarket fuel control lock has now also disabled ignition? any ideas what I test from here?
