When I start my car in the morning in the front engine bay I can hear a wherring noise and unsure if this noise is normal as I don’t recall hearing it before. I have no oil leaks coming from the engine bay and I noticed this is January. Is it something I need to be worried about or is it normal. Any help on this be great. I have the car booked in for a service next week and going to a different mechanic and worries I may get ripped off and preventing that by asking you guys first. Sometimes being a female they seem to take you for a ride.

Thanks for you time 🤗

Could be an Idler pulley, Alt bearing, water pump bearing, remove the drive belt and spin individually and listen fand feel for roughness, then start engine and see if noise is gone with belt off
