Hi all, I have a 2001 Avalon and I need to replace the rear shocks. I'd prefer to buy a full strut to avoid the risks with compressing coil springs.

There aren't any full struts specifically for the Aussie Avalon from Toyota or aftermarket, but there are struts for the Camry MCV20r. Some sellers say they are compatible, but the OEM part numbers are different between the cars

I asked the parts people at Toyota who didn't know if Camry struts were compatible, but they look very similar. Someone told me the Avalon has a heavier body so Camry shocks might be uncomfortable to drive in, but they also said they are likely to fit.

Has anyone had experience using Camry struts in their Avalon?
