for future reference, i bought these white leds for the 1zz clock and AC controls

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Xenon-White-HID-Ins...93%3A1|294%3A50

and installed...

as you can see the light is not evenly distributed but its still visible (the lack of light at the periphery is not that bad in real life)

but i want to change them with brighter ones so please post up what lights you used with links and a photo installed :)

This is what i used.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-Super-Wide-Angle-...p3286.m20.l1116

Result can be seen here. The AC Dials are brighter then they look. I think the neons sh*t on them thats all.

http://img10.imageshack.us/i/p1010048lwr.jpg/

are the leds bright enough to adequately light up the whole ac controls?

finally got around to finish mine.. used the same bulbs as `mrcrazyrolla

the A/C dials aren't as bright as the clock or ashtry, but theres enough light to illuminate it.. the photo doesn't capture that unfortunately

all in all its fairly easy to do, took me about 30-45mins.. I'm alot happier now that it blends with the dash and head unit

Very well done!

Its funny how the dial lights don't turn out well in picture but are fine to see in person :).

Focus on a dark spot first so the camera adjusts to let more light in,then once its focused and while still holding the button half way aim it towards the dials. the lights should then come out brighter when you take the pic.

Hey guys

I did this mod today, but it came out not as good as I thought....I bought the same LED as mrcrazyrolla, but in red, the light didn't spread the whole A/C dials area...bit dark on the sides...

is there a way I can adjust the brightness? or just have to buy brighter ones?

I want it very BRIGHT!!

Cheers

try to move the leds back abit by pushing them in so that the base dislodges from the white plastic holes. put some clear sticky tape over the leds to hold them back.

alternatively, you can buy these 3 smd leds i got from the US but they're a bit pricey:

they are really bright and light up the whole dial area evenly just like stock

hey guys,

just a question, where can i find a T2 neo wedge bulb.....

it's for my Demister button...i screwed up and the original bulb won't light up...it's so small, tried autobarn, supercheapauto...nothing..

the bulb for A/C is quite small as well, probably T3, i just put a RED CONDOM on and it looks GREAT!!

now.....i need a T2 bulb...help!!

Ok planning on doing this. How many bulbs will I need to change for the sportivo's center console and will these work well without all the dim lighting issues?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-Wide-Angle-T5-74-...p3286.m20.l1116

Thanks

Those won't fit in the console.

The bulbs are Neo wedge bases.

You will need 3x12mm neo wedge base bulbs and 5x10mm neo wedge bulbs.

The 12mm covers the clock and the climate control display.

The 10mm covers all the other buttons except the emergency button (lights up red anyways) and the passenger seatbelt sensor (which is red when lit anyways)

I bought my bulbs from here:

Linky

Edit: Azz, you will lose the dimming ability of the console as LEDs cannot dim, unless you use the original bulbs and slip on a different colour condom on the bulb.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply. Will be ordering these bulbs soon. And when i said dim lighting issues i didn't mean for the lights to dim, i meant as in if there will be dim spots that the led doesn't cover like other people had problems with

Oh my bad dude. Nah there are no bright spots as these LEDs are wide angle ones.

have any 1zz owners used these neo wedge white leds for the AC and demister buttons?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2pcs-T3-T4-T5-Neo-W...id=p3286.c0.m14

are they bright enough?

cheers

Hey man, for the AC and demister buttons, you can just buy those small "condoms" and put them onto the stock bulbs, use some super glue if needed

They turn out great, some Repco and Autobarn stock them: narva bulb covers (something like that)

I had to get new bulbs because I stuffed up the bulb for the demister button...it won't light up no matter what <_<

I ordered some t3 and t4 through: http://www.bl-led.com.au/store/index.php?m...=20a&page=1

Will give it a go later this week, and i will post some photos...

Cheers

My install

imag0095a.th.jpg

They were a major pain as the t5 bases didn't fit properlly in the holes so i had to cut them smaller. Also they didn't work for a while and figured it was the contacts and played around for about 1.5 hours before I got them all to work. A HUGE thanks to Yuro who helped me out on this today
