My worst was the light coming on after ~260km following a day at Wakefield Park. You are hard pressed to do worse then that, if you do, get your car checked out NOW!!!

I "was" averaging 400~450 straight after a Toyota service. $70 later for a none Toyota service and I am back up to 650 average :).

I think Toyota must have made a mistake and put honey in the engine rather than engine oil .

The easiest check for fuel consumption is to check your tyre pressure, if you are a little under what you should be your fuel economy will drop :).

Could i ask how many litres of petrol you guys are actually filling up? Im assuming these figures refer to when the light goes on?

Not everyone fills up only when the lights on (i try to fill up on Monday/Tuesdays cos its cheaper :P ), so im wondering whats the average litres per 100km you guys get.

Cos for me i usually fill up about 40litres after 450k, which is about 8.88L/100km, rather sh!tty economony of an economy car. :(

Nek, I've stacked in 58.45 L..... the car was coughing around corners!! When the fuel light comes on, you have at least 10L.... Im never in a rush to fill unless its cheap(er)

My lowest average over a tank has been 7.6L/100Klm, all of that was freeway driving to sydney, 4 ppl and luggage, air con off.

Last week I did 630km on 47L, all peak hour driving with a bit of lift. 7.46L/100km.
