Gday ALL..

I am Craig from Nowra,,my hobby is mainly chasing severe storms and photographing lightning,,butt,

Where i am able to be handy here is,i am happy to post up severe storm warnings for the Sydney Metro area,,Illawarra & the Shoalhaven{if anyone lives in another area,please let me know and i will look out for them too}

If NO-ONE likes this idea,please let me know as i follow the weather,its like a religion to me as its more of a hobby also..

No storms are in the forecast atm,not till Monday afternoon at this point in time..

What i will post up will be,,,Warnings,,Lightning Tracker & radar Images..

{I dont YET own a Toyota,but plan on getting rid of my 94 Model TI BlueBird after Xmas for a Corolla}..

Look forward on reading your replies..

It was taken up at Nowra Hill {HMAS Albatross}pic was taken 29th Nov 06,,What they call C.G...Cloud to Ground lightning strike.

Reason why its my favourite as i had lightning going off all around me and i must admit,it was scarey..

Please keep an eye on this thread MONDAY 11th Dec,,as we are due for storms :clap:

Wooohooo mad pics coming up hopefully!

We won't be seeing much in Canberra, it looks like a foggy winters day here because of the smoke coming up from VIC.... except its 35+ degrees... really bad weather.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - SYDNEY/NEWCASTLE/WOLLONGONG REGION

for LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WIND

For people in parts of the

Sydney Metropolitan area.

Issued at 4:25 PM Monday, 11 December 2006.

At 4:25 PM , Bureau of Meteorology weather radar detected severe thunderstorms near Parramatta and Liverpool. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. Severe thunderstorms are forecast to affect Bankstown, Stadium Australia and Ryde by 4:55 PM and Sydney City, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Airport by 5:25 PM .

Large hailstones and damaging winds are possible.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Metropolitan and parts of the Central West Plains, Central West Slopes, South Coast, Hunter, South West Slopes and Southern Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Plz note,,,great chances of hail in the Syd metro area!!

we had a little rain and a bit of thunder but nothing that exciting. Still some rumblings going on.

745pm Wolli Creek Sydney:

last 10mins of my OzTag game and we got PELTED with rain.. and it friggin HURT haha. Great backdrop of dark cloud cover and lightening bolts.

Gday to all;

Went up to the highlands yesterday arvo for a chase,,,very much dissapointed :(

The storms up there dies out completely on my arrival and al i got to see was lightning to the far North,like as though it hit Sydney,s S/W ..{Liverpool-Campbelltown areas } :(

The camera i use is a Kodak EasyShare 6meg..{nothing like the you-beaut gear some photographers use}..

i just got stuck in the storm on my way home from shoppin.... hail !!!!! havent had a chance to check my car was pourin, but it wasnt 2 bad, so doubt there is any damage
