If your loosing coolant like myself due to high engine bay temperatures, upgrade your radiator cap to a higher rating.

1.3 bar/ i think is the highest i am not to sure if it's in bar or kp/cms.

what exactly does an upgraded TRD radiator cap do???

well for my car the pressure was too low on the cap. it was only 0.9.

I need a higher rating cap to hold in the coolant.

No kilowatt gains, just a better operating temp for your car, and if you loose coolant and rev your engine your bound to blow your head gasket.

Just my advice to people who are loosing coolant.

What temp did you check at, the liquid expands (volume [V]) with temp [T] and pressure [P] (PV=nRT), so if you check when cold it is going to look low (should be near the bottom of the reservior as most is in the radiator, but also if it is hot and you can't see the level properly, don't remove the cap to see, wait for it to cool as the sudden change in pressure causes it to spurt out the reservior and onto whoever is opening the cap.... (just a work of warning, liquid burns suck!!!)

i remember the packaging saying 1.3 kg / cm3

In that case it's a density measure and I'd assume tells you the ethylene glycol : other additives ratio...

another radiator cap is apexi which also has 1.3 kg / cm2 (18.5 psi) pressure rating and probably not as expensive as trd.

Sorry for the prev post kcorro, did you mean kg/cm2 (which is a pressure unit) rather then kg/cm3 (which is a density unit). I think I got confused, my bad.... I'm a research chemist so I live in a whole big world of units....

Hmmm...do I hear a group buy coming?

probably only worth it for the 1zz guys as the Stivo has an upgraded cap with higher pressure seals already (i think, because mine was replaced under warranty @ about 1000kms <_< ), but if you are interested for cosmetic reasons.... why the hell not.... B)

no need to say sorry to me :)

i remember on the trd packaging it said cm3 but i could be wrong and it could really be cm2? i got the apexi info for the web site.

so..it let's ur car run HOTTER?

No; it allows your radiator coolant fluids to continue circulating at a higher pressure, because if it gets too hot with the stock radiator cap, it will start expelling coolant (as the coolant will expand with heat and pressure).

Something like that, anyway B)
