  1. Australian Specification (2017) CH-R's do not have a Toyota Original USB Charger Port option and the aftermarket USB Ports do not fit in the blank in front of the gear shift, which is the logical place for the port to be located. I have developed a Plug and Play option that any handy person can do to give your C-HR the missing option. NOTE: This is a USB charger only and does not connect into the entertainment system. STEP 1: Buy a suitable aftermarket USB Charging Port. I purchased one that has 2x 2.1 amp USB ports and a Blue LED Volt Meter. Buy a Twin mini

  2. Alright, all the following information that I provide as always has come from the Camry King SupaTouring Dave (aka The Viking). The testing + troubleshooting + speculation came from him, the irritation + annoyance to drive me to buy an ACV36R strut brace came from you guys and the brace came from me. I've noticed alot of you Gen4 boys (especially the v6 owners) are having issues as to finding a suitable strut tower brace for your Gen4 and 4.5 Camrys. So far, I've seen 3 braces that have been linked but obviously have their downfalls: 1) Ebay strut brace - Pro: V6 and 4 cylinder compatible,

  3. I have had quite a few people recently ask me for more info about how you go about boosting a 5S-FE… so I thought I would put everything I have learnt in one place to make it easier for people. This thread comes with the usual disclaimer, I take no responsibility for any damage you cause to yourself, others or your property by attempting anything detailed in this thread. If you do not agree to this, close this thread now. So with that out of the way, here we go; Background information; What is the 5S-FE? The 5S-FE is a 2.2L Inline 4 Cylinder engine, produced by Toyota from 1990 to 2001. I

  5. From its humble beginnings in 1950 as a development project based on the design of the Willys Jeep, the Land Cruiser has taken its rightful place as Toyota's flagship four-wheel drive vehicle. When the Land Cruiser (then named "Model BJ") was first tested in August, 1951, it climbed to the sixth station of Mt. Fuji -- the first motor vehicle to perform this feat. The first orders for the vehicle were from police and forestry departments because of its off-road abilities. In 1954, when the BJ was formally named Land Cruiser, the vehicle officially entered mass-production, rather

  6. Heightened Reality and the Celica I have discoursed on the philosophy of ‘Heightened Reality’ and how it guides your car restoration or improvement elsewhere in the forum. I wrote that Heightened Reality is giving you more of what you already have. Also that if the factory wanted to do it, but chickened out because it would cost a couple of cents extra per part, you can do it yourself. Here are a couple of specific examples that may serve as more guidance. My wife’s RA40 Celica Liftback came with factory air-conditioning, which was overhauled and worked well. 7. The 1NZ-FE ECU can account for more airflow, so some people in the US have had success putting a bigger throttle body on... so I thought I would try it. The part you need is a DRIVE BY WIRE (NOT cable!!) throttle from a 1ZZ-FE (found in ZZE122 corollas) the drive by wire setup is found on the facelift ZZE122's only. (if you get the part from the US, i believe a scion XB th can be used also) You need to perform what is know as a 'chip swap', which mean removing black plastic chip/sensor from the top of the standard yaris throttle body and putting it on the new corolla body. If you dont do t

  8. ‘Death-Rays and Car Interiors’ Disintegrator rays date back in science fiction to 1928 with the publication of the first Buck Rogers novel (he entered comic strips the next year). These death-ray weapons would blast all material objects into their component atoms. Your Toyota’s not likely to encounter a disintegrator gun attack, but the same damage a hostile spaceman could do in a second is done in slow motion over a period of years. And it’s done by the sun. The ultraviolet rays do the most damage, attacking the plasticisers in vinyl, plastic and synthetic rubber. Plasticisers are those co
