And were you parked a week or so ago outside the Law college ... on christie st ? ← Yep that was me. :D I got the tinting done @ Toyota Chatswood they get a group called TrueTint to do it for them. I don't have the details on them at the moment as I am posting at work, I will have a look around and see if I can get more info for you.

For servicing my car I have been going to Chatswood/Artarmon Toyota and haven't had one problem with them, they are fast, reliable and their prices to me seem fair, they have my vote for the North Shore of Sydney. :D

Hi Everyone, Well I have had the recall mods done on my car. My first impressions is WOW! The car feels so much more responsive and smoother to drive. The power in the mid range revs is sooo much better and there is still the kick in the high end when in Lift. With this added power I am finding it a lot eaiser changing gears as well at high revs and the car is smoother coming out of high revs as well. I really am glad that Toyota Australia went ahead with this recall. All in all a thumbs up from me!!! Jesse. :D

hey mercury, R u going to do the shift selector cable as well ? I m going to ring artamon tomo to book mine in as well..and ask for the shift selector cable.. Ray Hi Ray, When I spoke to the guys at Artarmon I didn't ask them about the gear selector cable as they didn't have a clue about the recall, I was going to leave that question until I took the car in and got to speak to an actual person that knew about it. Plus that issue wasn't on the recall letter so they may not even do anything about it. Let me know how you go with the question. Jesse

Hi All, Got my letter yesterday 24/8/2004, rang Toyota Service center in Artarmon NSW, and they didn't know about the recall. LOL. Sent them a fax with the letter and they now know about it and I have it booked in next thursday to get the mods done. :D

Hi Guys, I have been talking to a few people around work here about this recall and we have come to the conclusion that this may reduce the power of the engine. It just sounds a little sus to me.

Just spoke with Chatswood Toyota Service Center, they confirmed that the recal is offical and people should be getting a letter in the next week or 2. However they said that it was only to do with the Air Cleaner Cap not the engine control computer. Though it was a receptionist that I spoke to so I will confirm it with the Service Techs to make sure.

Hey Danz, Nice job on the AEM! If you don't mind me asking how much was the AEM?, and where did you get it from? I am looking to start moding my car after the recall and are weighing up the different CAI options. Thanks :D
