  1. Spotted DECOY - Black Sportivo Aurion with Thai grill on the M4 eastbound yesterday.
  2. Any specific instructions I need to give them when they fit the fulcrum part? Gonna get it done next week.
  3. My initial question was related to the quality of the RDA rotors, I certainly do not want to cheap out on them. But also having said that, I don't want to spend $600+ for high performance discs I don't need. I have never truly been unimpressed with the factory setup on the Aurion in terms of being able to pull out, in fact they've saved my backside on one or two occasions where it seemed almost inevitable I would hit the person cutting me off. I suppose I am being a big unappreciative of the life I've gotten out of the set on my car and I shall endeavour think higher of them. It's just... I got my Aurion with 33000km on the clock and needed to immediately get the front end machined only to have the vibrations return 10,000km later, got them remachined and avoided rain for the next 50,000km (Don't ask, it wasn't easy) - as soon as I hit some serious rain again however, the vibration immediately returned under loaded braking so I suppose what I am really wanting is something a bit hardier in those conditions, I figured going for something that was a bit better at dissipating heat would be the way to go... So please do correct me if I'm wrong, I'm glad to hear other options (less than $600 for the front end :))
  4. Thanks for the advice, I'll take it to heart... The Aurion is the first car I've had with problems like this... But thats probably due to the fact that I can generate decent brake temperatures more easily than some of the bombs I've owned.
  5. 110000 - I know, decent for the factory brakes, I'm not complaining about their overall longevity, just that they'd warp at the slightest hint of rain.
  6. Hi Guys, I think I've finally got all I can out of my factory rotors (3 1/2 years) so I'm looking for replacement options. I definitely do not want to fight it out with another set of OEM ones as I've had issues with them warping early in life so I was looking around and noticed RDA branded discs on ebay... Are these any good? I know the FAQ suggests DBA but I just can't justify spending that much.
  7. Spotted approx. Ten minutes ago on Pacific Hwy at Karauah south bound idiot in white supra with black TRD sticker on read doing about 150- 160kph.
  8. Could this be my mystery leak? :P Doubt it, sure as heck wish I could pin point it though.
  9. I run 32 psi (235/40R18's) they are correctly load rated, as I said, I only have problems with that one corner.
  10. Hi Guys, Long time no post, I know. Been extremely busy with that horrible thing called life... Anyhow, heres the issue. 12 months ago I bought a set of Pirelli Dragons for my Aurion, loved them entirely fore the first 8 months or so and then lost my trust in them when the drivers side front developed blistering in the sidewall. I replaced that tyre and moved it to the back, about a month later, travelling down the F3 I had just aired up (they were down on air about 1psi, but it was a cold day too) the tyres at the twin servos and checked them over (used my own pressure guage too), left the servo and hit 110 on the freeway, about 5 minutes later the drivers front (same one again!) decided it didn't want its inner sidewall anymore... I managed to pull the car over safely (it was amazingly, still smooth to drive) At that time, I replaced the two front tyres with a pair of cheapo bridgestones (couldn't afford anything fancy, sadly), now about a week ago I had the same issue again, the inner sidewall seperated from the tyre at 110 on the highway. I'm not sure if this is just coicidence, but I'm a little concerned that the tyre on the drivers front has always been the one experiencing these failures, I don't drive like a lunatic, in fact, this last 5 months or so has been mostly country driving (avoiding potholes etc) Now I can rule out an alignment issue, as the car has been regularly aligned as well as aligned each time I replaced tyres, the tyres have also been fitted by different tyre stores and each inspect the rim each time (different rims involved in all incidents though) Could this still be a driving style issue? bad luck? mechanical issue that hasn't been picked up? I really don't feel safe driving the aurion at highway speeds at the moment so any advice would be appreciated.
  11. Had both of these things done, still have a flare... I decided that it's not getting any worse, so it must be OK. Hmm, my car is at the dealer right now. Dropped it off this morning. Just annoyed that I won't be able to pick up the car today as I won't have any time at all so it might have to stay over night :(. With the ECU update, I really really wonder what other things that is in the update besides "fixing" the flare. Does anyone know? Sorry mate, should've been clearer... they replaced the Transmission Control Unit... No updates.

  13. Back in kempsey for the next day or so, coffs and grafton were awesome... Back to Sydney next.

  14. $28k is a little rich for a 06 build Aurion isn't it?
  15. Toyota recommends not idling the car to warm it up, just take it easy, it's fine.
  16. 1986 4runner 1992 Landcruiser 1995 Lexcen (Okay, it was really a bommadore, but can't I pretend it atleast had a toyota badge?) 2007 Aurion SX6
  17. Spotted White Aurion MYZR6 on Leumeha Rd around 10am.
  18. Me and the missus will be in for Saturday and Sunday and maybe Friday.
  19. I'll take some tomorrow and post 'em up.
  20. Definitely need to do some other mods while you're at it. Personally I don't mind the rims, but you may want to consider dropping the car a bit as they look a bit odd in the guards. There are also some other cheapish mods you can consider (have a look at the FAQ) that will set it right off.
  21. I'm not sure what the issue is, I'd expect my car to fall to bits if I hit something at 110kph... Maybe just me though.
  22. Oh Daryl, I've actually shed a tear while reading your post mate. After meeting you and your car I can certainly say that the world is certainly a worse place without it. I'm sorry for your loss but sure am glad everyone got out of it safely.
  23. Toyota have always used Magnetec on my Aurion, not sure about the other fluids
  24. Sounds like fun but gonna have to pass, just finished a drive from QLD. Maybe next time.
