  1. hm.. that makes it even scarier... the one i got is a face lifted version 05' silver hatch auto with tint and mags but i guess all cars would have tints now... and it has 42ks on the clock not 22ks... oh well... will see...
  2. hahaa.. yeah... was previously driving a mazda 6 with HID then changed over to a Honda Accord Euro Luxury which also has stock HID, so wasnt used to the halogen yellow light... but surprisingly the corolla has pretty good reflectors and they are still bright just the colour annoys me. Only reason to downgrade was that mrs learning to drive and she would prefer a smaller hatch... and i choose the corolla as they have higher resale value cause we would probably sell this corolla in 2 months time and i didnt want o go too small (yaris, jazz, swift). i would say the corolla is zippy but still lacks in power (especially in my auto version) I guess the corolla should be one of the best learners car... kepping my fingers cross on the ease to sell the corolla in 2 months time as it has been usually a 3 days from posting to sold kind of deal on all my other previous cars.(i think they were popular) but then on the corolla i have my doubts. Would anyone even pay 16K for a corolla? i mean with 16K you can easily pick up a classic mazda 6 or even a standard accord euro...
  3. i am looking at buying Mtec bulbs, should i get standard 55w or extended version of 100w?? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MTEC-Halogen-HID-Bu...id=p3286.c0.m14 Or should i go HID?? but with the current exchange rate, HID=$100 Bulbs=$35
  4. i am going to change my bulbs (low Beam) on my 05 corolla think it would be the facelifted version. what is the correct size? H7 or 9006?
  5. Hi guys, as you guys know i just bought my corolla yesterday, anyway gonna have it serviced like this weekend and would be getting the oil and filter changed. i personally switched from a bigger car so i feel the corolla is noisy. From what i heard changing the oil to something that engine oil like the Valvoline XLD Engine Armour SAE: 15W-40 would promote a quieter engine, while a 10w-30 would promote a more fuel efficient engine. 10W-40 would be fuel efficient while giving it a good protection. I bought a 05 with Low mileage 40Ks on the clock... But it doesnt feel like a "new car" the engine is noisy and the car vibrates abit when i put the auto to drive. Question: 1. I got 2 spare engine oil , Valvoline XLD Armour(15W-40) and Mobil Syn 2000(10W-40) Which one should i use? 2. Should i go Repco or Supercheapauto to get my oil filter or go original is there a huge price difference and what you guys paid for? 3. Spark Plugs, Should i go back to toyota to get them or supercheap/repco?? are they cheap? Basically i want it to drive new... I cant believe a car especially a toyota runs 40ks and feels old already... But it seems to be normal cause got a mate with a corolla and it felt the same but to an extend cause his was a manual it felt better cause his car wasnt in drive all the time... =(
  6. Hi guys, Was wondering if anyone could help me here... just bought a 05 conquest hatch with 42ks on the clock things that are bad: car vibrates when put to drive... so was thinking that i am gonna change all the necessary stuff cause the previous owner dont really looked like he cared alot 1. Spark plugs (hoping the car runs smoother) Q: are they platanium or normal ones. How much did u guys bought the plugs for and where to buy them? 2. Engine oil, what do u guys use for a corolla? 10W-40? 3. Coolant searched through the forum and see some people saying coolant of the facelift version lasts 160,000??? 4. transmission fluid: whats the service interval for that? 5. I also need to change 2 tyres, whats relatively cheap and quiet? (from the seller the original ones are noisy) thanks thanks and thanks again for all contributions...
