  1. Ok Update: Brought the car to the dealer service centre, They came to the same conclusion as what I thought yesterday, Someone must have drove the car through a pool of oil somehow! The mechanics spent quit a bit of time looking everywhere and can't find a leak. So he clean the underneath of the driver side of the car (from front to rear) of any oil. So will monitor it for 2 days to see if any new oil is leaking. I guess if there's oil I should be seeing it by this afternoon. So fingers crossed.
  2. I did not add any anti-rust protection such as Ming treatment. Whatever anti rust will be as per the manufacturer application on the ca.
  3. Ok tonite was the 1st time I took my car out for a drive since I brought it home on tuesday. And after reading the manuals, the average fuel consumption gets reset after a petrol is pumped. So the petrol was full when the car was given to me, so when it was showing 31/100 , its just the computer not adjusting yet or not working properly. I was just worried unnecssarilly.
  4. I just checked my engine oil still pretty full. When did you realized this was an issue? Did they say its quite common? Oh ok have to take it to the dealer tommorrow. Thanks ALL!!
  5. That would most likely be the issue then. Next time you drive it, leave it on the Average Fuel Consumption screen and watch it. It should go down over a short while. Since you have it new, you should retain your petrol receipts and keep track of your 'real' fuel consumption. Ok Thanks ALL! I'm one paranoid owner, Now have to sort my other issue. I guess you guys would have seen that post too. Man I can't be the most paranoid owner. LOL!! :)
  6. Yes it was a full tank of petrol! The petrol needle went pass full, so yes he gave me a full tank.
  7. Yes ringing the dealer was my intention but can't really do it until Sat. Since pretty sure he will ask me to bring it in to have a look. I think someone must ran over a pool of engine oil? Because only the driver side, front and read mud flaps are oily, the other side are dry.
  8. Hi All, Those who took delivery of their new aurions, Do you guys remember what was you odometer showing? and What's the average fuel cosumption. I checked mine, it was 36KM and average fuel consumption was 31/100KM, Far out. Is this common?, the average fule consumption I guess needs time to come down as I start to drive more. But 31/100Km is pretty high. Hopefully the dealer did not give it to some kid to rev up the car when they send the car for window tinting??
  9. Hi, I tool delivery of my new aurion yesterday morning and it has been parked at home and not drive out since it was brought home. Yesterday I noticed l there was a very small oil staint on the driveway directly underneath rear tyre mud flap on the driver side. So I thought maybe I drove across a pool of oil? I touch the mud flap it's oily. However today, I checked further, I notice underneath the exhaust pipe, the big blocky thing, there were droplets of oil like ready to drop, I check further, all along the driver side from front to rear, there are droplets of oils building all ready to drop. Is it because the dealer spray some sort of oil underneath the car as protection? Or something is leaking? Hopefully I'm just been paranoid?
  10. which color did you get, I got the silver one and by conincidence that's what they got in stock. Yeah so at the end your price my price and a few other prices I found out, we all almost got the same deal. No one really got 2-3K discounts kind of deal.
  11. 31K for tinted window and mats, (the 1st dealer was happy for me to walk away - which surprises me!!!, his best price was 31,500)However the dealer gave me the car on stock/display, I asked him not to give me the one infront of your shop (I should have get that confirmation in writing but I trusted him, why do I trust salesman LOL! :) ) , The car is a brand new car, just that its parked infront of the shop as display cars. I whinge about it and he throws in: bonnet + head lamp protector + boot liner.
  12. I read an article that Toyota was building a new of touring in Oct. But earlier in the forum people were saying dealers are saying stock running out. ie. whatever the May 08 is sold out its gone, toyota stop making them. Darn I should have stick to my guns and bargain harder. I thought I better get it before it sold out. So I end up with a May 08 built, the car was on display at the dealership with a shonky rubber lining on the window. (Read my post about toyota can't aligned :) ) The other dealer I went to was asking me which colors do I want, we have many colors, but don't have one in stock in the shop. Now I know he must be talking about the new batch of touring But this dealer would not give me the extra $500 discount I wanted , and it was the 1st dealer I went to, so end up buying it at the 2nd dealer I went to.
  13. Thanks for sharing, Yeah I concluded that its hard to get a good deal for this touring. I didn't get much discount too, I saw holden commoordore limited edition , the one with 18" alloy wheels. IN early Nov, Holden advertised them as 33990 driveaway deal with all the fancy extras. Last friday they dropped it to $29990!!! 4K discount from a already very good deal. But toyota seems to be holding its own? Which month is your touring built in? Thanks
  14. What a pain. The rubber on the car window is not aligned. it should have been aligned slighty to the left! WHy can't they get simple thing like this right? So now I have a hole and water can go into the inside of the door. However I did check there are holes underneath the door for an water to flow out, but still, I have a 4mm hole. But some cars (like my Holden Astra and older Accord I have seen) just have the horizontal rubber overlap the vertical bar. so you have holes on both left and right. So I guess is normal then? Should I be worried, Water going inside the door. No Problem? Thanks, See attached pictures.
  15. The paint protection offer was given to us for free, when my wife ask for it because of some very minor issue during the delivery of the car. Initially they were offering some accessories. At first they offer us some accessories but my wife blurted out paint protection ( as we know women get suck into such things. :) ). Initial purchase I told the lady Í didn't want their protection offering since I don't believe in it. But thought since they are giving it for free, so just take it. But then I spent some time on the internet (The Evil of internet!!). Gee EVeryone seems to have nothing good to say about paint protection. Bear in mind, both my parents car got the paint protection done in the past and know countless other parents get them on their cars. (Man the dealers are making a killing with the paint protection stuff. :) ) Issues that worries me was once there's paint protection I will not be able to wax, polished the car anymore. ANyway, got the paint protection swap for head lamp + bonnect protector and boot liner. According to toyota's manufacturer price (Not dealers marked up price) they are in total around $280 dollars. Well looks like I short changed myself, from $795 paint protection to only $280 worth of accessories basing on the RRP prices. LOL! :) Cheers,
