  1. Did any of you guys see the sunday herald driver section. They said that the replacement for the echo sometime 05/06 will be named the Vitz. And, one engine variant will be a 1.8 6 speed. I can only guess that is the same engine we have. Now that car should be a ball of fun to drive. At last count how many different cars have the 2zzge engine... 1. celica 2. corolla 3. lotus ....anymore? Eric
  2. If peekay can tell us his build date/delivered date, I will take the cake. Build April 03 delivered 28 June 03. Running beautifully, no rattles. burgo.
  3. I will wait until this arfo to see if they rectify it. I don't think it is normal...
  4. Speaking of 'characteristics' I was just wondering. With my brake pedal, when you are the lights is the brake pedal supposed to very slowly move down. Ie. when I press firmly on the pedal it slowly sinks down. Is this telling me that there is a leak or air bubble in the brake lines? I put my stivo in for a 20K service and mentioned it, the guy said that it was a characteristic!! I smiled and went hmm. Slowly losing my faith in toyota servicing.
  5. If I can add my two cents.(i don't add it often).. in NSW if you get caught by radar (as kanjo said) they are fitter only to HWP vehicles. HWP vehicles have digital speedos calibrated daily (if they are out they are taken to the engineering unit) . To attempt to get out of a radar issued fine you need to be a radar expert...good luck. Cop it sweet. Lidar is even more accurate. It also comes down to your attitude.., heard of the attitude test?? Think about the ticket...you can pay the fine or you can spend a day in court (costing you money) if you lose, you are liable to pay even more than the ticket, or lose your licence. The court will take into account your traffic history. So the more speeding tickets you get... the worse it looks to the magistrate deciding on your penalty. Speed in the wrong hands is deadly. P platers as some of you are put yourselfs and others in danger when you speed excessively. While it is fine to do 5-10 over the limit in some areas, when in heavy traffic, school zones, cyclists about, slow down. I quite often take my stivo up above the limit, but take into account the conditions and the likelihood of being caught. Take heed of the new traffic ads on TV showing the ute. Cops, ambos and firies all hate it when they have to attend a collision involving death or serious injury. Just imagine seeing them, their relatives, and friends. As you can probably tell I have first hand experience... If you want the most experience with driving the stivo fast go to the track, leave the streets for travelling. The stivo is fun anyway you drive it. By the way whose black stivo was travelling east on Victoria rd, ryde on monday and turned left towards Top Ryde. My partner and I both thought it looked pretty damn good... Sorry for the long post, but it had to be said.
  6. Maybe toyota is realising how much money they are losing on each stivo. Having a great engine, alright leather interior and pretty good wheels compared to a normal corolla. If toyota priced the stivo anymore than what they have, not many people would buy it, sad but true. If it was around the 35k mark I would have gone an astra or clio. But bang 4 your buck the stivo came out on top. Now toyota realised this... and the price will probably go up. There are many other possibilities. Another thing... I also had a look at the sportivo spec's on the toyota site about a month or two ago and I noticed the weight had gone down to 1164kg. A bit more realistic. Did any one notice this? Anyway back to enjoying my car without rattles.
  7. Enny Mini, Not to be rude or anything...but that is why it is called a face lift :) Still, it looks alright, it is keeping with the corolla image of bland. Ours is just a hotted up kind of bland. If you know what I mean?
  8. I also do the same, but I get a toyota filter, so they don't know that a non-professional has done the change. Then there wouldn't be an issue with using non genuine parts.

    Tyres

Hi all, been looking at this site for a while now. Got myself a silver 'tivo. Just wondering, As i plan to keep the rims stock, what are some better tyres. Also what is the ideal pressure to run them at? P.
