Its not the gear selector cable, i can put the lever into the r range, it feels like it is engaging and then there is no drive in reverse, also in neutral the gear is still slightly engaged, because if you try to push backwards when in neutral you can feel the gears engaged.

Just fitted new engine, new heater core, now the auto gearbox won't select reverse, neutral is now a forward gear, and park tries to engage, what the? other than that it drives well and no more wet carpet.

Hi Had the AC regassed, and while driving to Brisbane from Sydney, the the carpet was getting soaken wet, even through to the back, just passenger side of the car. when coming home, the temp gauge hit the red, and car stopped with the engine malfunction light coming on, the radiator was empty, the engine got so hot the spark plug caps have melted in to the spark plug wells, can now only get number 1 spark plug out, compression tested this cylinder only reached 300kpa, the engine is now stuffed, wondering whether the two are related of seperate issues. going to buy secondhand motor, but don't want to swap until i find out why the carpet is wet, where did the rad water go?
