  1. I should be alright for this providing my finances are up to scratch this time round. (Buying stuff for your Aurion is bad for your health, and bad for your wallet, true story!)

Need to get my hands on a walkie-talkie of sorts this time, i hear it makes the trip more interesting. Pity I didn't have one on the big meet. :(

    Can't wait! :D

(I know I haven't been very active here lately, work has been just really beating down on me and yeah, when ya get home and just go to bed. It's painful. :(

  2. my car got its 60,000km service yesterday. it feels happier now haha. also my boot doesnt leak anymore! I can wash my car again! HOORAY!

what happened to your boot? im experiencing the same thing too. i followed it up myself, and everytime i wash my car, soap and water would leak into the boot via the left tail light, and itll stay inside one of the pockets.. :/

Turns out it was to do with water coming in via a hole where a rubber grommit should have been. The grommit looks like it was moved or just fell out, its the same grommit used by the reverse sensor cabling. But its plugged up and works a treat now.

can you take a pic and show me? im going to look at my boot.

I was not shown the gromit so I am unsure where it's located, but i'll take a squiz and see roughly where it might be. Then take a photo for you.

  3. Now that you mention this.

My Sportivo ZR6 may be suffering the same fate, just a few weeks after having the rear window seals changed for the same reason (leaking water into boot).

When I'm driving when tis raining, I hear water gushing down the drivers side pillar (B pillar or whatever it is, the one thats in the middle of the car on the sides). I thought it was normal but I might get it checked out now.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I get that too, and also thought it was normal. Let us know how you go mate.

Since the moonroof is not a sealed unit, the off-flow piping goes through that drivers side pillar. So its normal to hear water flowing through there. Mine is ok.

  5. Also the suspension configuration is different between the SX6 and ZR6. But only slightly. Not sure in what way...

What would make you think that?

The part numbers for the springs and shocks are exactly the same for both the SX6 and the ZR6. I wouldn't imagine anything in-between to be any different.

    Front Shocks

    Right: 48510-09Q10

    Left: 48520-09J60

    Front Coils

    Right/Left: 48471-06020

    Rear Shocks

    Right: 48530-09M30

    Left: 48540-09770

    Rear Coils

    Right/Left: 48231-06450

The parts are the same, but the setup is different. Toe/Caster/Camber etc is a bit different I've been told. But then again, Toyota could be wrong? :P

  6. Hey everyone.

Due to the other event that was running alongside this meet today (Respawn LAN for those interested, LAN computer gaming event). It's 3AM and I have been running around doing all sorts of stuff which has really drained me in these past two days. (Started Friday, had hardly any sleep!)

So just a heads up that I MAY not make the meet. I'm not saying I am not going to make it just yet but Tash if you see this before you leave in the morning. Don't ring me, I'll ring you... If you don't hear from me, just keep going to the car wash. (I might just come for the chat and atmosphere, photos would be a bit silly for me if the cars not washed haha.) I also kind of spend quite a bit of money this weekend so I'm rather broke. :(

Anyhow just so you all are aware. I MAY still make it but not sure depending on how I feel after a decent sleep!

    Cheers!

  7. hey guys just thought its kinda getting close to the cruse and well i thought id better say that im up for it. :spiteful:

btw 1stkill this time its a date for the photo shoot

    cyas soon kyle

Hey man, tash and I were talking off-forum about mini cruising from Sunbury (where I live), feel like me joining in on the mini cruise haha ;)

  8. Great work Dwee... :toast:

Albert Park looks good at either C or E meeting points.

And as for the Bolte, can't stop laughing how many times the G Spot was mentioned...someone will have to show where this alledged G Spot is.

anyway great work again Dwee, you checked out the loction so maybe you make the final decision on where to meet at Albert Park. :)

Yeah, I was thinking either C or E, leaning more towards E though haha.

F, where I was, the road ends where it is under the Bolte, so I thought it was the furthest I could go. <_< I guess just make it the meeting point, and one of us on the day can quickly scout it out to see whether it's better. ;)

By the way, Lee do you have one of those tripod stands?? Haha :whistling: I think you can guess what I'm thinking..

I was thinking of asking my dad if he still has his old-school film SLR so I can use!

    Excited! Can't Wait!!

I'm rather excited aswell! I will see if I can get my hands on some uber camera gear. I know my friend has those car mount camera thingos. I really wanted them on the cruise so we could get uber action shots but he was overseas at the time. :( I'll see if I can get tripods n stuff tho, but not sure yet.

  9. Quick N Clean sounds alright. I tried looking for car washes nearby Albert Park, such as in Port Melb, St. Kilda and Prahran, but they are specialized car washing places (i.e. premium, not self serve) or auto car washes. Your thought guys.

Quick N Clean Yarraville, 290 Williamstown Rd, Yarraville VIC 3013

That's reletively easy to get to aswell from the Westgate Freeway (just turn off at Williamstown road and ya there).

I say that's the best location for us to do "The wash!" can't wait! :)

  10. Tasmanian Adam Gowans has won Round 4 of the Aussie Racing Cars Super Series at Eastern Creek today after a meeting-long battle with series rivals Kyle Clews and David Lawrence.

And to top it off, it was done in an Aurion. woo! :)

    http://www.aussieracingcars.com.au/news_29.htm

An Aurion in the sense that the lights and grille bear a passing resemblence, and the badge says Toyota :P

All the Aussie Racing cars are the same underneath justabout, and also a heck of a lot different than the real cars (like NASCAR), moreso than the V8 Supercars (at least they're the right sort of size, and the shell is relatively accurate)

Yeah I know. :( Don't ruin my dream though haha.

  11. First up, a big thanks to AUR30N for supplying me with a set of eyelids for the Aurion, they arrived today! Now... here comes to nitty gritty!

What did you guys use to fasten them down to the top of the headlights? I'm looking at you Daryl for answers! :) Also they seem not to fit very...easily either, and one side seems to fit better than the other. I am rather confuzzled haha.

  12. Evan.... new wheels don't interest me anymore. I don't care if I'm behind in the looks department. I will make up for it in the performance.

I want to say one day...

"I have the 2nd fastest Aurion on the road, next to Daryl's..." :P

I reckon it wouldn't be far off to be honest! But yeah, nice car mate, really nice. :)

drag strip mate, drag strip! come on lets see some times lol

It won't be worth it if I were driving! Daryl is a stick compared to me! I'd need to remove weight to get to Daryl's car weight lol! Should go to a drag strip one day... Never been ;)

  14. Well - just to throw it out there, and keep in mind my knowledge of Melbourne isn't all that great, but what about if we combine all of the ideas?? Say those of us that wanted to could meet up at like 11am for the car wash, then say a 12pm meet @ Albert Park for photos, do a short cruise somewhere for lunch/coffee then get some shots under the Bolte Bridge and say goodbye there?? Dunno if that would be too big a day or not.

I think that sounds pretty good actually. In terms of it being too big a day, depends on how many we have and by the looks of it we have about 14 or so.

Well I was thinking say we hung around at Albert Park for an hour, left there at 1 and got to somewhere for snack/drink @ like 1:30 ish, then maybe back to the Bolte by 3pm and a few shots and it winds up around 4pm. Just a loose sort of time frame. 14 sounds like a pretty manageable group :) I'll leave it up to the Melbourne guys though to think up the snack place - Lee you mentioned St Kilda, that fairly close to Albert Park?

That's practically around the corner from St Kilda... Well it kind of is. I'm sure all the citybound guys will sort it out for us. I only know of Sunbury and surrounding areas, and Southbank coz I work there. haha.
