Hi have you checked to make sure its not the up hill assist is engaging. if the car is rolling back slightly it will kick in and drive the car forward for a few seconds. I have a prado grande 03 as well and when it rolls back it clunks and tries to engage the uphill assist. not sure if this is it but if you look in your book it tells you about this.

hi adsprado i've got an 03 prado grande (petrol) which i bought 2 years ago. excellent car smothest ride especially with the different ride controls on the console. a little thirstyon fuel. done nearly 130k and still drives just as good as a brand new one hope your enjoying yours

Hi kdeito what did you to to get toyota to pay half. I am going to write a letter direct to toyota with pictures and see if i can get any response. I went to a toyota dealer and they sent pics to toyota in the eastern states through the warranty dept but they just seemed to brush me off into the too hard basket with saying its out of warranty too bad. so i'll see how i go and let let you know. even some advise on what to do to fix it would be helpfull so i'll see what they say.

its cracked right in front of the dash mat so you cant hide it spewin otherwise that would work for a bit

Hello to all just wondering if anyone has come across prado dashboards starting to split. I have an 03 Prado Grande and the dash is splitting in the vinyl right above the instrument cluster. sent photos to toyota and they said they haven't seen this happen before. but since its out of warranty wont do anything about it. not sure what to do. any info would be muchly appreciated.
