  1. I like the new front but the old tail looks way better. Is it just me?
  2. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DRL-CCFL-Angel-Eyes-Projector-Head-Light-TOYOTA-AURION-/130498726156?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6254890c Just saw it on ebay while searching the eyelids for my mate. It has the angel light and the daylight LED, pretty pricy tho $650 but I'm sure it will look absolutely awesome!!!! Anyone up for a group buy and see what the best we can get?
  3. ha ha Davo.....how low can yu go? Have you had any rub issues atall? expect any? cheers mate Cam ;0) Nice focus, welcome to the coilovers club. I have mine installed from osb park too, running at 18 front and 16 rear for everyday driving. Shame that I have rubbing on all 4 corners and worse, I've started hearing some knocking and squeaking noise..they really annoy me... I will have my tyres replaced and have booked in for alignment/inspection next week, hopefully they can sort everything out this time.
  4. Wheel Brand: Osaka RS5 (Hyper Black with Mirror Lip) Wheel Size: 19" Wheel Width: 8.5" Wheel Offset: +38 Tyre Size: Kumho KU31 - 245/35/19 Tyre Pressures: 38psi allround Suspension Type: Pedders Extreme XA Coilovers, Ultra Racing strut brace & rear sway bar (19mm), rear camber kits. (Height - from bottom of rim to guard: 605mm allaround) Feedback: Scrub on hard corners/big bums, other than that, awesome!!
  5. Not yet but soon be, just have to book another time in for that plus the rear camber kit. Also interestingly, after the alignment the whole suspension feel a bit softer, checked the damper setting but they are all the same as before...erm...
  6. Some updates...went back from Pedders for another alignment....turns out...shocking!! Before After Front Camber -0.40' (L) -0.45' (L) -0.42' ® -0.46' ® Toe -17.01mm (L) +1.1mm (L) -17.40mm ® +1.0mm ® Castor +3.35' (L) +2.57' (L) +3.38' ® +3.01' ® KPI +13.22' (L) +13.25'(L) +10.21' ® +13.00'® Setback -4.1mm +0.9mm Rear Camber -2.54' (L) -3.08' (L) -3.08' ® -3.08' ® Toe -13.5mm (L) +2.8mm (L) -13.2mm ® +2.8mm ® Well...at least they didn't charge anything and the drive feels a lot better now, except for the rear camber which I will return to pur the kit on...
  7. ill post mine later tonight when i get home... are u running any upgraded swaybars/strut bars? yep, Ultra racing rear sway car bar (19mm) and front strut brace.
  8. Also out of curiosity... what alignment spec you guys are running with the coilover? I didn't ask for a printout (I really should have...) and I just don't feel right with the steering at all. To compare the before and after, basically the steering felt - a loooooot lighter - often wandering - like it has a bit of delay (play?) so makes it really hard to go through corner (its like you are oversteer everytime) and even on straight line you have to do quite a lot of corrections. I'm suspecting either there are too much toe out/ negative caster?? So I hope if someone can post up their spec for references... Thanks
  9. Should be around the $2000 mark fitted with an alignment. Ok sweeet :) I spoke to pedders and they said $2350 fitted with allignment but they are specifically designed with camber control he said, have to buy different strut tops. But i also got quoted $2100 for K-Sport fully adjustable coilovers (damper/height/camber) fitted from a mate. Which one would you guys recommend ? And Sorry for hijacking someones post :P Mine cost $2060 fitted with alignment and the extension cables (for rear damper adjustment).
  10. for sure mate trying to get more aurions together here in perth! have a few so far, and now the weather is getting better, photoshoots/meets will be happening pretty often! yay! yay! yayyay!!
  11. Thanks for all the info..I guess I might have to raise it by 10mm the next time I go back Pedders when they have the camber pin. Hey Davo, maybe we should meet up
  12. So finally I got them fitted this morning, looks really great with the lowered height but during the wheel alignment, both wheels in the rear (both sides) showing -30mm camber and he couldn't adjust it at all. The fronts are fine which set at 0mm after a bit of adjustment. Sad thing is they didn't have any camber kit in stock and have to order them in. Does anyone have this problem as well after lowering? Other than the camber, I also noticed some scrubbing in the front - when cornering, and in the back when driving over uneven road. I'm not sure if it is because my car is too low, I have attached two photos.. *EDIT* I'm running 245/35/19 Any idea/suggestion would be great so I can go back Pedders and ask them to check on the issues... Thanks
  13. This is interesting, I was told differently (from Osborne Park Pedders) that it is fine as long as it is not too low. I also advised RAC that I installed the coilover, only question they asked was "how much did I lower the car?", I told them 20-30mm and they didn't ask anything else and then updated my policy....
  14. Good to hear all the positive reviews, I just rang for a quote for my Aurion: $1600(coilover kits) + $320(Fitting) + $134(Alignment) = $2062 all up. How much did all yours cost? p.s. I'm from Perth.
  15. Hi all, Yesterday I was swapping the map light and while I was putting the new one in, it sparked then I lost pretty much all the interior lighting (plus the clock), so I guess the fuse must be blown.... Sad thing is I don't have my owner manual handy, and I'm too tired (and too lazy) to go through each of them. Also I have searched and found the fuse box picture from a previous post (thanks to DJKOR's post back in 04 December 2008 - 01:58 PM ) but it doesn't show clearly which one is for the interior lighting.... So I'm hoping if anyone can point me to the exact fuse location and the size(standard/mini) please... Thanks
  16. Oh...man....what a relief.......that really scared me out of sh*t! Thank god, I can go take my shower in peace now!!
  17. Just earlier when I was filling up my tank. I realized the flap (the round metal flap in the tank filler neck) has gone missing... (or do we actually have one? I'm pretty sure there was one b4...) I'm now worrying I might pushed it in into the tank with the oil gun.........and possibly will cause damage if that really was the case.....Is it actually possible? Should I ring Toyota up and have them to look at it before driving it again? Damn I'm now panicking...heeeeeeeelp... :o
  18. Thanks again.... but it seems a little bit beyond my confidence of doing it....I'm not understanding how to wire it to the accessory terminal..."Red circled" in below image, does it meant to be ignition switch?? Or else......just come up with another idea... Since I'm not gonna use the power for the factory head unit anyway. Isn't it the easiest way (for my case) would be using its power source? Only thing I'm not sure is how many Amps are running via it? Recalling ur audio wiring diagram: Connector 1: 1 - Light Green - Speaker: Front Right Positive (+) 2 - Pink - Speaker: Front Left Positive (+) 3 - Grey - +12v ACC <------------------------------------------ connect to positive terminal of my new cigarette lighter plug 4 - Blue/Yellow - +12v Constant 5 - Blue - Speaker: Front Right Negative (-) 6 - Purple - Speaker: Front Left Negative (-) 7 - Brown - Ground <------------------------------------------ connect to negative terminal (ground) of my new cigarette lighter plug 8 - Orange - Antenna Power (+12v to power antenna amplifier) 10 - Dark Green - Illumination (+12v when tail lights on) That will do - Providing I'm not gonna exceed the amount of Amps running on the wire ?? Cheers
  19. Would you please, if u don't mind, explain a bit of how you did that? I don't need to run 35A..not even 25...anything enough for 15A would be more than enough :P Or to be easier, do you know if there is any spare fuse / fuse slot which also connected to the accessory terminal - so the power is cut when ignition is off? Thanks heaps again.
  20. Hi All, Not sure if this is the right section for the question, please move it to Electronics if its not and apologies in advance. Anyway...I'm planning to hook up a carpc, amp usage are 8A (laptop power) +1.8A (dc power for usb hub)+ 1.2A (LCD screen) = 11A in total. The lid on the cigarette light suggests that we don't exceed the use of 12v/120W in total for BOTH cigarette lighter outlet (which = 10A maximum on 12v). However I was reading the owner manual, it uses a 20A fuse for the cigarette circuit. So..here is my question: 1. Is it ok to still go ahead, hook the laptop + usb hub into one outlet (9.8A) and the screen to the other one (1.2A). That would make it 11A in total, I'm pretty sure it wont blow the fuse in the fuse box (since it is 20A) but do you think it will fry the wire? Last thing I want to see is catching a fire. 2. If that really isn't applicable, how hard to wire another outlet through the existing cigarette lighter circuit - from the fuse box, connecting to the existing 20A fuse. OR 3. Wire a separate one into an empty slot in the fuse box - but it has to be off when the ignition is off. Anyone knows if there is any spare fuse slot which also hook up that way? LAST question: not related to this problem, but How do you run the wire through the firewall, I had a quick look in the engine room, but only saw a big rubber cable passing through it. (its for my amplifier) Thanks very much.
  21. NO, u're not:p I have mine colour coded too, just because it has been raining since I have put my eyelid and re-meshed grill about 10 days ago, I never have a chance to wash the car so I didn't bother to take any picture. :D
  22. It would benefit any grade of the Aurion, however it obviously won't handle like the Sportivo's do with them installed. The suspension on the Sportivo is slightly different to the AT-X, Presara, etc, and because it rides a little stiffer to start with, the benefits of the Ultra Racing gear can really be taken advantage of. It's not to say it isn't a good idea to get it, you just can't expect to throw it into the corner in the same way as the Sportivo. Go for it o12lando you wont be dissappointed,it's a huge huge improvement prolly more so on the ATX (sorry Daryl this is only what i think) than the Sportivo,my reason is the Sportivo susp is already set stiffer than the ATX and by adding these bars to the ATX it really adds a huge handeling improvement (stiffens it up heaps with lowered springs of course),at least twice as firm as stock(my opinion),i proved this to myself chasing you thru the hills in Melbourne with ease (i was only going bout 70% with no probs) and the only thing that let me down that day were the standard shocks...change them Sportivo shocks/KYB shocks and what differences are left between the Sportivo & my ATX suspension? p.s hehe i think my tyres might have played their part that day also... B) that's cool I might give it a try oneday :D Ron, jump on mine if you want to feel how it feels, I have the front brace and rear sway installed :P
  23. and once you have done all those and the wheels/tyres....you will then soon find out the stock suspension is not gonna hard enough for you anymore :D
