  1. Buddy, i just want to say one thing and one thing only. You have a great attitude! Hope it all works out for you :)
  2. To all the nay-sayers. i have contemplated this mod for a about a year but just can't be bothered doing it. all you need is to take the insides of the remote and wire it up to a switch which can be easily mounted in one of the spare areas just to the bottom right of the steering wheel. it's quite simple. you could even wire it into the main power supply if you really wanted to. http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/818/lkdnkfad.jpg
  3. Let me be the first to welcome you. Congratulations on the buy. beautiful car for a great price. (very generous nuns). and ur silly questions are excused in advanced just as long as you make sure you "search" the forum before asking, everything is alright with us. once again a great choice and im sure your gonna turn your ride into something special take care
  4. yes i have and the system works flawlessly it really is better than what the price would suggest. i am really happy with the system, next big task is to wire sub + amp and the reverse camera and everything will be set.
  5. ahh i see. might have to ask the seller about the P.center. with wiring the reverse wire to the positive of the brake light, the wire supplied is attached to the unit via the plugs supplied and is only about 20 cm long. as i really dont know much about cars im thinking this wont be long enough to wire to the positive of the brake light. anyways thanks once again. believe it or not i didnt have to ground any wires to the handbrake (or body) as the unit comes already ground internally somehow/it doesn't need to be ground to work.
  6. hey thanks for that will give it a go within the next few weeks. on that note. i just got my unit and have installed it up to the part where i run the sub+amp and reverse camera (do it all at once another day) and the system works great. i have 3 wires which i have absolutely no idea what they are for. 1 says MUTE, the other says P. Center, and the last one i guess is to connect in conjunction with the reverse camera as it says REVERSE but have no idea where to connect it to. any help would be great. thanks heaps again DJKOR
  7. hey DJKOR thanks heaps once again (one of the thousands of thanks you have already received) haha. im looking at the service manuals to figure how to get that glove box out (i tried once and looks difficult), point me in the right direction/give me a hint :D thanks again
  8. for those with the ipod cable, could you please enlighten me with how you ran it from the unit into the cabin? did you have to drill any holes? cheers
  9. SecaBoy.................pure gold
  10. Hey, hey thought i did one of these a while back but clearly im mistaken (dont you hate that when it happens) anyways...... AGE: 22 (21 when purchased) SEX: Male RELATIONSHIP: Taken REASON: moved out of home for work so the girlfriend, mum n dad all live around the same area, so obviously i needed something better than the 2001 Magna i was driving around in to take me on the 1.5hour drive i do 2-3 times a week to see them. the magna just wasn't cutting it anymore, costing me the hard earns petrol wise, not very comfortable, no cruise control and wasn't very safe (especially when we are talking about black ice, heavy fog, heavy rain and sometimes snow, through possibly 3 months of the year). i just didnt want to risk it more so on the safety side of things. so i remember seeing the aurion at the motor show when it first came out and loved it, searching the net for a good buy, reading this forum (homework, we should all do this) bought me to heavily consider this car. i was locked in a battle between the SS Commodore and the Sportivo (commodore because i was getting 15,000 off RRP), but decided against it because of the thick Pillars, tiny side and center mirror although it was pretty comfy. so i found a good deal online 38,000kms for 28000 plus dealer etc. (i knew i could screw them down a little), walked into the showroom asked a salesman, went and looked at the car (wasnt kept very clean and was smoked in due to the bodyshp manager driving it), told him to clean up n come bak the next day. rocked up had been fully detailed, steam cleaned the lot. took it for a test drive noticed it had 44,000kms on it, went bak inside told the dealer about the discrepency, but when it came to put down the pen on paper i told him 22500 he said meet me at 23000 so i signed on the line. moral of the story, i now have a very safe and reliable vehicle with a great relationship with the dealer and service department manager for a fantastic price IMO. what more could you ask for, i would have been happy with just the car :P take care people Thim
  11. apart from the clear bonnet protector then painting it, another idea i've heard was to get something like a clear plastic similar to contact and put that on your bonnet, seen a merc with this, looks perfect except for the massive line through the middle where it clearly stops, y not just put it over the entire bonnet???
  12.   Totally agree he does deserve his own thread, it would be the most popular one here :P
  13. Paradigm thank you so much, thats was the perfect answer i have been looking for. thanks again, and i shall give it a go soon cheers, Thim
  14. Gday people. something just popped into my head. With the usb port does it only support max. 4gb usb stick or since it runs an O.S does it support say a 250/500GB hard drive? very keen to know. BTW im liking the new unit up for sale on Ebay but we'll wait and see what Matt brings home for us hehe... Take Care, Thim.
