  1. Hi, if it's not too much trouble could you please post a picture of the total dash as well.. I was considering putting in a single din unit but i was thinking it might look weird.. Now im tossing up between a navi unit or what i originally wanted to do.

Here's some other pics for you djc..

Thanks, that is very helpful. That actually looks a lot better than i was expecting. I'll probably get it all installed some time soon. Just wondering, did you do anything to salvage the steering wheel controls?

  2. Calm down mate, it was not a personal attack, i was just pointing out the fact that you have already opened threads regarding this issue and the feedback has been pretty much the same. I dont understand why you are leaving abusive threats on my profile and on this thread.

SHUT THE **** UP AND DONT **** COME TO MY AREA ANYMORE OTHERWISE I KILL U. U ******I NG *****

I was not trying to offend you in any way. Maybe you need to learn some manners. Show some maturity please.

Anyway, to answer your question, Jaskel has basically summed it up with a solution on your other thread. The car is still new, give it some time to run in. Different conditions result in different consumption, you should be happy really, my car is averaging around 11l /100 using 95ron but I do a lot of country side driving. I dont think that the computer takes into account your reserve fuel, so Im guessing that 1.75 litres should have taken you 35km. How long did your 58L last you? Use that as a better reference in calculating consumption. To sum it all up, there is nothing wrong with your car. It is quite normal to see these figures, and as your engine breaks it in should begin to lower.

Hope that helped, no hard feelings mate..

  4. we looked at one today, I still think the SX6 is a better buy...it just dont look right with the spoiler...atleast the SX6 has the rest of the kit....im pretty sure we will go the SX6 over the touring.

It is mainly the features that come with the Touring that make it stand out. The SX6 may have the full body kit but the bottom line is you are sacrificing dual zone air con as well as the front and rear parking sensors for the body kit. Not to mention the SX6 is a little more expensive. But that's up to you, I really liked the Sportivo body kit but at the end of the day the Touring was too good a deal to say no to.

  5. Thank You so much for the information kwikkik and djc! The dealer was giving me 33 400 with floor mats and when I asked him to go lower he was saying it simply can't be done. I'll probably go and buy on Wednesday. Thanks also for the tip on the paint protection/wax.

Also the dealer said that the Touring is only available in Black, Silver and White, has anyone bought one in another colour apart from this? because my dad wanted one in the sakana gold/silver colour although I reckon the black looks awesome or maybe get a white one and fit the custom grill!

Will have to contact Vicroads about the P-plate issue because I have an old P-plate licence and reading from their website (http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/initiatives/safer_road_users/new_graduated_licensi/high_powered_vehicle_restrictions_that_apply_if_yo.html_0) it seems like the Aurion doesn't make it under 125kw/tonne but fits under the 3.5 litre/tonne rule, I'll probably still drive it regardless though!

I can confirm it is available in other colours. I purchased mine in Tungsten and the dealer had mentioned other colours too, but maybe stock has run out for those colours or something. Bear in mind $33,400 is a bloody good price as it is, and they probably aren't willing to go lower than that as it will be cutting into their commissions a fair bit.

  6. Hey Trunks

I went with the car broker and total price was $33,300 drive-away with metallic paint and floor mats. I think I could have gotten a better deal but did not have the time to go to the dealership. There were a lot of holidays (or so it seemed) on the Saturday and I couldn’t go in on the weekday due to work. I went with the broker simply for ease. I gave a few dealerships a call but none would touch that price. I am sure if I was there in person it would have been a different story.

However, I have read on the forum recently (but can’t seem to find the thread at the moment) that some of the members have gotten better deals. I think someone got a 2009 touring below $33,000 with extras. So that is definitely the bench mark.

I am going to get tint at the local shop (Much cheaper). I turned down paint protection since I think it is simply a coat of wax that I am happy to do myself. Thanks to the forum I am going to add the auspack GPS headunit and a custom grille.

As Boxerboy stated there may be a better deal for stocktake…

    Hope that helps

I managed to get it for $32,950 including metallic paint and mats drive-away. That said, I am close family friends with one of the dealers there so that may have helped. He also told me to turn down the paint/interior/rust protection saying it was a waste of money, in any case the package was $3000 for all 3 but i was given the price of $990 which i still refused.

How much did they offer you window tinting for at the dealer?

I have yet to pick up my car, most likely this coming Thursday, out of curiosity did is it listed as an AT-X SE on the dealer receipt? Because on my receipt the car was listed as an AT-X SE for $34,990 but the cost was cut with a "Customer discount" was this similar to yours? Nothing important, just curious that is all.

  7. hey guys,

so im looking at upgrading the audio system in my stock ATX... basically a couple of questions i have:

    1. what speakers, from your experience work best while powered by the stock headunit?

    2. if im running the stock headunit and upgrade speakers, is it worth sound deadening the panels?

    3. if the speakers i upgrade to have seperate tweeters, is it better to have them mounted in the stock location or elsewhere?

    and last...

    4. any recommendations for a good audio installer in perth? i have previously had work done at A&T in west perth, but not sure if their still kicking around...

thanks for putting up with my silly questions!:help:

    1. Without an amp and a cap, the quality differences will be hard to notice.. You will hear a difference between a stock set and a middle range aftermarket set, but you're best off going with an amp if you want a high quality experience. In the stickied thread there are links to a couple of speaker reviews that might be worthwhile checking out.

    2. Deadening would help to reduce road noise and whatnot, but i wouldnt bother with the added cost especially if it's powered by the headunit. Unless you're really serious about your sound or you have the money i personally would not bother.

    3. You may as well take advantage of the stock mounts, gives you less hassle and a cleaner install. Its already there, and i dont think many people have much to complain about the placement of tweeters so you may as well use them.

    4. Cant give you much help for that question as i'm not from around there, sorry!

Hope i helped, bottom line is an amp is really the backbone to the sound system, there's no point buying a high end speaker and having it powered by a factory radio.. Otherwise you could just buy a mid range set of speakers and you wont be able to tell the difference on the factory radio.

    Hope that helped

  8. qld is where it is boys sorry....qld roll call me, djkor, ZZR88, Secaboy, Supatouring, Supercharged TRD, 00UCH, 51DER, SportivoGirl, BONDIE(an ex aurion owner), Yoda, Ingres and thats just a few

who u got NSW come on ahahha

Me, Aureon, Jin [ Ex as well], cranky, SX6 [saw his car this morning], DkZr6, Pumped, Aurion_Zr6... Emmm Am i missing anyone?

Seriously...I hardly see any1 in the forum that resides in Sydney...especially in the eastern.. =(

We're here!! Just shy.. or something..

  9. I love the idea of the AWD, it would certainly be a great way to distribute the power the Aurion has :D

Though the idea of the ute doesnt really appeal to me at all.. Even if Toyota did make a ute from the Aurion it would probably be renamed anyway. Not to my liking, though it's really got nothing to do with me if others choose to buy it.

  10. I bought my ZR6 (which is for sale buy the way) in South Aus and shipped to Perth because i couldn't get wildfire red in WA. It did cost 1200 and even though the dealer sent me heaps of hi res digital photo's there was still a few little things i missed. Would have bought the car anyway but Will always try to buy local in the future. Good luck and good to see a another future aurion owner on this site!

That is another concern of mine, the cars always look great in pictures but i like to look at it in person to check for any minor dings or scratches. Most of them can be fixed quite easily with some touch up paint, but that could be another reason the price could be further lowered.

I ended up buying brand new because all the second and cars were are pristine as i wanted them to be.

  11. Honestly I don't think you'll be saving much if any at all, the freight of the car across Australia is not going to be cheap.. Unless the thought of flying over and then driving it home sounds appealing to you, bear in mind the cost of petrol and the time it will take you to drive all the way back.

  12. meanwhile, am i the only one that saw the green aurion and said "wtf is that? its so ugly!"...

maybe its just me, but the rims REALLY dont suit that car in my opinion...

but hey, the owner must love it, so who am i to say anything?

I'm with you on that one, but undoubtedly that thing would turn heads, whether for the better or worse

  13. It's probably nothing. Let it run it a little more and the smell should go away, whenever I get my current car serviced, it always comes back with a burning smell as you say. It is probably just the lubricants and excess oil getting burnt off the internal components as they heat up after a drive.
