  1. I installed sensors I bought off ebay on the Kluger. I picked up some genuine Mazda 2 sensors for $60 if I remember correctly. They were actually very simple to install. If you follow the youtube instructions you would be fine but obviously you need to be comfortable with automotive DIY. I bought another set of cheap Chinese sensors off eBay and put them on my wife's car. They were around $8 delivered and honestly, the quality and effectiveness is no different to the genuine Mazda sensors.
  2. Fair bit in info on this thread http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25136&st=0&p=369780&hl=SENSORS&fromsearch=1entry369780 Good luck.
  3. There's some links in this thread for installation instructions http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24935&st=0&p=362857&hl=3rd%20row%20seats&fromsearch=1entry362857 Sounds like there's a bit more to it than just adding the seats
  4. If you decide to post to Brisbane, I'd be interested. Otherwise give ebay a go for a larger audience. GLWS
  5. Which eBay steps did you buy? I didn't have to cut anything on the ones I had.
  6. The eBay steps were pretty easy to put on. The instructions were in Chinese but the diagram helped. If you're remotely handy you should be right.
  7. With the genuine steps yes, the ebay steps probably not. If I remember correctly, the ebay steps protruded slightly, enough to push a mudflap forward. If your sidesteps are touching your rear mudflaps you're in serious trouble :P
  8. I've had both sets on my car. The eBay steps were fine. They attach to the car a little differently but still very securely. They stick out a little more than the genuine steps and sit slightly lower. If anything that made them easier for the little ones. The genuine steps are a slightly larger diameter which makes them look 'tougher'. They look so similar though it's hard to go past the $$ saving. There are two different types on eBay, one turns in on the ends like the genuine and the others are straight bars. I had the ones that turn in like the genuine. Hope this helps!
  9. looking at the pic, it looks like they moved the car with the tail gate open and it scratched on something hanging from the roof. If they just opened it and hit something, it be more of a dent than a scratch/gouge. Good luck getting it resolved.
  10. Most of the way I squeezed the wire between the trim and the carpet. I think I removed a plastic part to get the wire from the rear seat area to the back. I can't really remember but it will make sense as you go. I used the passenger side. You need to remove the interior trim from that side to run the wires through the grommet to get to the sensors. There's a bracket in there I used to screw the control module so it was nice and secure. To find the reverse light wire, I turned the ignition on and put the car in reverse and used a test lamp to spike the wires and find which one came on. Then I soldered the wire to that. Can't remember the colour sorry.
  11. I installed some sensors off a Mazda 6 on mine. I mounted the speaker under the glovebox on the underside of the plastic panel down there, right next to the kick panel. I used velcro to mount it. Mine has a little volume switch which allows you to choose two volume settings or turn it off. It's easy to access down there and invisible. Good luck with the install. It was pretty straight forward, just a little time consuming because I don't have a lot of experience working on cars.
  12. The oem rails on my KX-S were darker and seem a similar colour to the ones you've purchased. Thanks for posting the pic Kesawi, it does look like a similar colour. I feel happier now :P
  13. I posted some photos on this thread http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=21714 Post 15.
  14. I'm not a fan of the black rails on the Altitude so I vote for the grey rails. I'm still getting used to my grey on silver but I think grey on black would look great.
  15. Looks to me like the cover hasn't snapped into place or the one of the tabs that holds the cover on has broken off. Can you take the cover off and check?
  16. I bought some of these and put them on today. I don't have an issue with gaps, but I had to use a round file to move a couple of holes across to fit the long rail to the 'feet' on one side. No big deal. They're definitely darker which wouldn't matter if your car isn't silver like mine. I don't mind the contrast, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Anyway, onto the pics...
  17. If you're used to rear parking sensors, put them on. The camera has a fisheye type effect so you can't really judge distances when reversing. It's more to see if any children/bikes/pets are behing the car. Very difficult to reverse using the screen. The back window is quite narrow too so that can make reversing quite difficult. I bought some 'new in the box' Mazda 6 sensors off ebay for about $50 and installed them myself so there's always that option. The silver matches up well so it was pretty straight forward. Good luck!
  18. I had fog lights on my last couple of cars and they were great on wet nights. As far as I know, it's not illegal to have fog lights on while it's raining.
  19. Thanks for the pic, looks like the perfect spot for the switch.
  20. They look great. Where did you mount the switch? Can you post a pic?
  21. What size did you go? Looks great. Are those fog lights from ebay? I noticed some on there with the chrome bezel.
  22. Your baby seats must be a lot bigger than mine :)
  23. You're probably not aware that the middle seat in the second row is removable. If you were to remove the middle seat, you have a small space to walk through between the two second row seats into the 3rd row. If you only require 6 seats in the car and not much storage space in the rear, this is the perfect configuration.
  24. Remove the middle seat and store it under the centre console. Then walk through.
  25. Hi all. Can someone with the fitting instructions for the Toyota rear sensors scan them and drop me a PM for my email address? I'm going to fit aftermarket ones but I'd be really interested in seeing the Toyota fitting instructions. May make locating the relevant wiring a little easier. If anyone can, I'd really appreciate it. I'll take some pictures along the way and post a 'how to' guide too for anyone else wanting to fit aftermarket ones themselves. Cheers.
