Yeah, im glad it worked out for you mate :) sometimes with the deeper scratches, you have to ask yourself if its worth flattening the surrounding paint to level it out or call it a day and rely in the fill effect of a suitable polish..
-
welcome to the club ;)
the guys at osb park also fitted my coilovers a while back.. they offer great service :)
should make it out to a meet/photoshoot sometime??
-
Ducktail ftw! But good on ya metal for taking the plunge! Cant wait to see it again :)
-
Is it just me, or is Megs Ultimate Compound incredibly difficult to remove?
i find it acctually pretty easy to remove..
are you using good quality microfibers?
are you working the product long enough? or perhaps too long?
what is your working area size?
-
the mars headlights are apparently not great quality... the guy who does all my auto lighting fitted a mars headlight into a ford focus and said they were a poor quality build...
only way is custom ;) ;)

Exhaust looks good Dave, where did you get it done? Was it carline? I did mine my yaris one there awhile ago, had a Walker muffler which is a Lukey too. Loved the note on it when you let go of the pedal and it had a rubble to it or growl haha.
Did you order your K&N Filter from supercheap? Im looking for a cheap place to order one possibly.
Thanks Rui,
yeah was done at carline ("custom exhaust's" i think they've renamed themselves) in OsbPark. Pretty happy with it, but will report back after ive done my 500km's with them :P
i ordered my K&N from AutoOne in Malaga.. but think im gunna go for the SRI, as i went for a drive in Lee (taffy) aurion with a SRI and similar exhaust set up and fell in loove!

Loving the car man! Huge fan of the ducktail and will hopefully get one soon, is it an ebay one or r style? Plus excited to see what you got from rstyle :D
yeah its from the group buy last year from r-style
thanks for all the comments guys.. hope to post again soon with more goodies :)
-
thanks Tash :)
should have the other bits soon, then off to the painters :P
loving the sound im gtting from the exhaust! so subtle when needs to be and growls when u put the foot down! definately well worth it
oh and those of you with slim lines, did you fit it yourself or get toyota to fit them??
-
Lee: Yeah i was wondering the same thing as i was leaving the exhaust shop, but happy with the way it turned out.. the way i thought of it was; the exhaust shop has a lot more experience with this stuff than i do... plus they have done a few aurions with this set up with great results... overall im happy with it, no drone when crusing, and a nice subtle note... plus it has that great sound on start up... the exhaust shop measured the sound output compared to stock... on idle it is 4db louder than stock. yay
vick: i finally agree that slim lines are the go. will get a set fitted up the next service the car goes in for :P
and have a few more bits coming from thailand, so should be more changes soon :) dunno about the black top thou... might not blend well with my up n coming goodies ;) and white wall tires... maybe when/if i go to 20's :P
thanks :)

OK, so a few changes have been going on... and went for a mini shoot tonight, hope you like the photos
Recent changes:

Lukey mufflers with 3.5inch tips
De Badge rear
more changes on their way ;)

nice shots mate, where are they taken? woudlnt mind meeting up for a photoshoot :P

andrew, i found if you dampen your microfibre while removing EGP it makes its 100 times easier. i learnt the hard way with a white car about EGP "streaking"
but yeah, glad you like the combo.. im about to add the HD wax to the SRP/EGP combo. should be epic :)
-
Thanks tash, cant say im noticing a confirmed difference with the filter. If anything its a placebo effect. Im loving the ducktail too. Thank god for sikaflex :P
Big updates coming very soon :)
-
Congrats on the new job mate :) looking forward to seeing this beast again
-
eye lids sold. grille and bulbs still remain.
-
so where is the computer that controls the headlights? how many wires goes towards he headlights?
I didn't see it in the FAQ index, do we have this information on the forum somewhere?
Hey mate check out Rstyle.....i think they sell the complete fog light with LED strip on top....looks pretty nice....but they only have it for series 2 aurion (09 - upward) front bumper......i m trying to locate one with LED on the headlight ( like the AUDI) in Taiwan.
hope you have better luck than i did on those headlights.. only one i found that acctually replied my enquiry was MARS performance, and TBH the aurion option they showed me (which they dont have on their website anymore) looked like complete p0o.. :(

pictures would be worth a thousand words here mate.. it could be the case that the clearcoat is starting to fail.. but would be pretty hard to tell without seeing it...
-
couple of changes coming in the next few weeks...
fitted this tonight;
not expecting any massive (if any) power gains, and induction noise is pretty much the same as stock.. (if im completely honest, it satisfies my OCD for cleaning and maintaining my car, cos i can now "clean and re-oil" my air filter!) will see about the "fuel economy" claims in the next few weeks..
more to come..................... :)
-
That second pic does it for me.. Hot. Wish i could see ur car in the flesh Lee. :)
-
Yes it does contain polishing agents as well as light duty cleaners..
-
Davo for the bulbs do they have produce the purple/blue line on the top border of the light?
hey mate
in the aurion projectors, they do but only at certain angles.. they are definately more of a OEM look, but brighter. they do seem whiter, but not 6000k white if you get what i mean... i spose they may turn whiter after their "burn in" period.. but i didnt give them the chance, and went straight back to 6000k
sorry if that wasnt much help... when they start up they are acctually really blue/white. but as they warm up they get their yellow/oem colour to them. the light on the road is whiter than OEM bulbs but not as white as 6000k.
-
looking great there Lee, the more i look at your car, the more i convince myself i want the slimlines... :P
planning on going moar low?? im at the 600 mark and its all good :) apart from major dips and reversing "up" steep driveways.. :P
cant wait to see what you have planned next :)

I'd say you're on a winning combination there mate..
its true that the EGP step is really there for the enthusiast, as the SRP does also incorporate a protecting agent as well. you'll find that the EGP does not have any cleaners in it (purely just a sealant) so you can layer it for extra protection if you so wish. whereas other LSP's from other companies will often have cleaning agents which many believe to make "layering" useless..
Ive recently gone to the SRP/EGP process for my car, when i have traditionally always been a meguiars user... ive found that the Autoglym products both outshine and more importantly outlast the meguiars NXT 2.0/M21/goldclass plus/m26 (having used all of the forementioned waxes for a good while) and also using pretty much most other major brands of waxes/polishes out there (mothers/eagle one etc)
i do still believe meguiars have the edge on some products like their ultimate quik wax, m205/105 combos, but IMO for the everyday user, the autoglym stuff is hard to beat... the EGP does require a bit more patience to apply and remove, but the end results are worth it IMO...

love it!
by far my favourite colour for the aurion <envious>
keep it going mate!!

Dont think they have anything as agressive tbh... I know ag have a "paint rejuvinator" in their line up, and also a HD cleanet polish... IMO if your doing paint correction then meguiars is the way to go.. They offer products that range from very very mild ( swirlX / M205 ) to pretty agressive ( ultimate comp / M105 )
