  2. Might as well chime in here:

Car is in dire need of a wax so I thought using the Mothers Cleaner Wax (liquid) would be a good substitute for removing unwanted watermarks + putting a layer of wax on at the same time (something Meguiars M26 Liquid and M26 Paste won't do).

While it's good at removing light imperfections (it removed all the watermarks unable to removed by washing) I was disappointed with the lustre + depth of the paint colour which the Cleaner Wax left behind. Compared to the Meguiars M26 and Gold Class waxes, it was dull.

I am sure it will protect your car as any wax will, don't use this product as a shortcut when looking for a showroom shine.

Hey Andrew, i would highly recommend autoglym Super Resin Polish as a all in one product... easy to use, and stunning results.. follow it up with AutoGlym Extra gloss protection and be prepared for some serious gloss.

ive recently moved away from meguiars waxes, as ive found that Extra Gloss protection simply outlasts, and outshines Meguiars NXT 2.0, Gold class plus, AND M26... and when used after super resin polish, gives the paint a very very glossy/wet look, even on white! plus the EGP has the advantage of not having any cleaners of any kind, so you can effectivly "layer" it, to satisfy your OCD :P

still havent found anything which works as well as M205, and Ultimate compound.. so will be sticking with those for paint correction...

  3. ok how about we make it the tuesday evening then...

    tuesday 15th feb

    start location

    auto pro innaloo 8:30pm

hang around there, take some photos and then a drive down to south perth (park under the bridge where we always meet up)

stop there and chat more and take more photos...

depending on what time we hang around till then, we can discuss other possible routes from south perth... maybe heading to the tunnel?

let me know what you guys think.

    cheers

    Dave

  4. post a cleaning ritual?

    what LSP are you using?

Cleaning ritual, is nowhere near as comprehensive as yours, Dave.

All i do is wash and then wax, everytime,

I have yet to try Gold Class Wax (Carnauba Plus)

I use Soft Wash Gel, Gold Class Wash, Ultimate Wash & Wax interchangeably.

The car is usually waxed with Deep Crystal® System Carnauba Wax or Ultimate Quik Wax

Sometimes the car is polished with Show Car Glaze, i do use a lot of other Meguiar's products and a few Mother's Products, when needed.

This is what i will stick with for now:

Soft Wash Gel followed by Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax

    OR

Gold Class Wash followed by Gold Class Wax

    OR (time restricted)

Ultimate Wash & Wax followed by Ultimate Quik WaxFYI: Ultimate Quik Wax is suprisingly very good for a spray wax.

So LSP is usually MDCSCW, but i will intermittently use MGCW, MUQW, MNXT, MDCWL, and will later try MoRSW.

I'm waiting to try MULW, and METS.

you're on a winner there... ultimate quik wax has a permanent place in my weekly washing ritual.

ive started using a few autoglym products of late and i must say im very impressed...

im starting to work in autoglym super resin polish and auto glym extra gloss protection into my cleaning schedules....

from what ive found so far, the extra gloss protection is so much more resistant and glossier than nxt 2.0.. althou it is harder to remove if not applied correctly... has a very watery texture and is very much a "pure sealant"... which requires at least 1 hour cure time before buffing off... but id say the results are worth it..

something to keep in mind when you look for a LSP next time anyway ;)

keep up the updates mate :) love this car

  5. Shud've made it on Valentine's day. I would turn out if I were in W.A.

  7. ok well there has been a bit of interest of late regarding a meet up.. and it all just seems a lot of talk so here we go

    lets organise a meet up/catch up/photoshoot/possibly drive???

as you perthies are aware.. im pretty ******* at organising acctual "cruises" so i think this will be more of a "park/meet/talk/take some piccies and then maybe drive to another location and do it all over again."

    please register your interest here

    im thinking

the week after next... tues or wed night.

ok so lets get the ball rolling!

all toyota models welcome and non toyotas as well. its a social thang!! :)

  8. Thats ok mate we wont hold that against you :yahoo: Ducktail = boot lip and the camry one should fit. Look at some of the members rides you will find some pics, want to get one my self down the track think they look better than sportivo kind on non sport models.

    just to clarify,

the bootlip spoiler for the australian camry WILL NOT fit our aurions.. the design of the boot is different..

your best option would be to contact r-style racing in thailand and order one from them... just also be aware, that i would strongly recommend, when installing to use sikaflex as well as the provided double sided tape to ensure a strong bond... if it wasnt for the sikaflex i used when installing mine, my spoiler would probably be laying on the side of the road a long time ago.

  9. Meguiars all the way. even though its pricy, you get what you pay.

Hi akuma, which are the basic items of Meguiars should I buy?

if you have nothing at the moment and want to set yourself up... then depending on your clearcoat condition...

(IF you clearcoat is in good condition ie. not many major swirls, or scratches)

    - Meguiars Gold class wash or Meguiars Ultimate wash and wax

    - Meguiars Quik Clay kit

    - im going to be controversial and recommend Mothers Step 2 sealer and glaze.. this product is just awsome on good to very good paint work

    - Meguiars Nxt 2.0 wax or Gold class plus wax

    - Meguiars Ultimate Quick WAX for maintaining your finish...

    - good quality chamois/microfibre cloths and also a good quality wash mitt..

if your car surface has a fair few swirls and scratches, then you may need to look into products like SwirlX, ultimate compound etc etc... this can get a bit tricky if you have never done it before.. and i would encourage you to visit the meguiars online forum or even look up meguiars usa on youtube to see how their paint correction products work. just remember always use the least aggressive product first, and work your way up as you need...

    hope this helps.
