  1. Ahhh I am glad you guys were on to us despite me forgetting to promote the event here :) Thanks for coming along! Very awesome turn out. Over 140 cars turned up in pretty wintery Melbourne weather. We couldn't fit many more cars in I don't think! Thanks to every one who came along and made a donation and also to those that helped out. Photos! I rather liked this little Corolla Rims on this Supra were OMGWTFBBQ! Very cool Crown wagon - who would have thought we would get two of these on the same day! Chev powered monster Hilux was awesome Digging the rims and overall look of this AE92 Supercharged k motor anyone? Rukus on bags apparently. Loved it! One of a number of cool Starlets on display Quite a few of us would like to have taken this home - Crown V8 Majesta Good turn up of early Celicas too Heaps more photos here https://picasaweb.google.com/113432889999220868273/AllToyotaWinterfest2013?authuser=0&feat=directlink
  2. And we were worried about the weather?! What a day! Thank you to every one who came along. I thought we might get 50 cars based on the weather, but we had that by about 9.10am! Our count topped out some where between 110 and 120, depending on who left when. A sensational effort! Thanks to all the people that helped direct traffic and rattle the charity tins. Also thanks to Shannons, Caribbean Gardens, Meguiars and the gents who snuck a couple of 86's out the back door at Toyota for us! With so many cars, it was hard to pick favourites, but here is a few. Rest of the photos are here - https://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/AllToyotaWinterfest2012?authuser=0&feat=directlink Sorry some are soft focus.. my camera clearly didn't appreciate being dropped last event....
  3. Great to see so much interest in our show! I am expecting well over 100 cars if the weather is kind to us. Don't forget its a swap meet as well, so feel free to bring anything along you want to trade with other enthusiats.
  4. Hi there. There are a few club members in our car club ( www.tccav.org.au ) that have a parts collection that might be able to help. Alternatively there is Crownman in Sydney who specialises in bits for them - 0412 711 481
  5. So who else might be coming along?! We now have support from Shannons and Australian Classic Car Magazine. One lucky entrant will receive a free 12 months subscription to Australian Classic Car magazine. Looking forward to meeting a few of you.
  6. Hi guys I am a pretty infrequent vistor to this forum but thought I would see if you would like me to mention your show n shine to the TCCAV members here in Melbourne. I know a few years ago we kinda crashed the party with a couple of older cars. I am sure a few of us would like to come along and share in the the Toyota enthusiasm at the show n shine, so if we are welcome let me know and I will spread the word. Cheers Adam

  8. What is the most appropriate way to invite you guys to each one - put a post up in the events section? Don't want to step on toes :)
  9. Hi guys.. I am one of the committee members with TCCAV. We really appreciate the support you guys gave the event, it was awesome to see your cars.. I personally loved XVIIIR I bailed early after getting the mega lean readings on the Celica.. thought I might come home and see if I could find a solution. Nothing obvious so far sadly... Thanks to Frank for making this one happen, he was still there at 7pm when I called to see how it was going! Thanks to Dave for manning the BBQ, and the other guys for supporting it. Here are a couple of photos I took, nothing as good as dwee.'s ones! I liked the different mix of cars attending compared to our social events. Some more here https://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/TCCAVDynoDay2011?authuser=0&feat=directlink You guys are more than welcome at our social coffee and donuts meets on the third Sunday morning of each month. The venue moves about so best to keep an eye on our website www.tccav.org.au or facebook www.facebook.com/tccav for more details We are running "Classic Japan" - a show n shine event for jap classics 25 years old plus - I suspect most of your cars don't make the cut off, but it would be great to see some of them adding some colour and variety to the carpark! Cheers Adam
  10. Hi all Through the Toyota Car Club down here in Victoria I have received some correspondence from Toyota, as they are putting together a display of original Australian built Toyota's. They already have a good collection from the 60's when AMI first kicked off, but then it drops off, so they are looking for some assistance from enthusiasts out there. If you have a nice nanna spec corolla/corona/crown/camry that was built here in Australia, they would like to hear from you. Given you won't have your car for a few days, I am thinking it will suit Victorians mostly. Anyways here is the message - contact Peter on the email listed, or alternatively PM me. > I'm the National Manager of Product Training and Publications for > Australias favourite car company. > > My employer, the Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Ltd, wish to hold a > display of vehicles to celebrate the commencement of volume production of > Australia's first Hybrid Car and 50 years of manufacturing Toyota cars in > Australia. > > You probably already know that the first Toyota to ever be built outside > of Japan was also the first Toyota built in Australia. > > Anyhow, the TMCAL collection covers most models built thru the sixties > and we are seeking cars built at Port Melbourne during the '70s, '80s and > '90s for the display, which will be at the Altona Manufacturing Plant on > December 11th, 2009. > > If any of your members have such a car in good condition and are prepared > to let us look after it for a few days (they'll need to be on site for a > couple of days before the show and will be under 24 hour security and > pampered by professional detailers), the corporation would really > appreciate your help. > > Alternately, if you know somebody who has such a car and they may be > willing to allow us to display it, they can contact me by email at peter.carpenter@toyota.com.au > > My office phone number is 03 9647 4325 or mobile 0419815037. > > thanks > > Peter Carpenter > National Manager Product Training > Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited
  11. Bowler my current ride is the brown Ta22. My ra23 is years from being finished and probably will never be as cool as the one that showed up!
  12. Posted to coming up thread..put it here for posterity... Hi all - I was one of the rollaclub / toymods imposters that came for a look. I will repost what I have posted on those forums so you can see some pics. My bent is more the classics so thats why all the pics I posted here are the oldies, but if you go into my album you will find a couple more of the late model stuff, but not a lot. Sorry! Link to my photos from the day here - http://picasaweb.google.com.au/adamlaws197...feat=directlink Highlights for me were: Dave's magic TE27 - was runner up in a number of categories including interior and members choice I think. RA23 TE72 with a 3SGTE - was a Toyota exec car which had passed through a few hands. Matt's KE30 with a 7K - won best engine bay - well done - I voted for you hehe Corona RT112 - has featured in Australian Classic Car recently I always liked the ST185 WRC car Takumi was represented. Love the rear watanabes And this was the first outing for "Mission Brown", my latest acquistion, but I left her out in the car park Good day run by Blind Kid Seeks - congrats! Hope the guys cruising today have a good run :)
  13. What LCA's does the RT40's use? If that one at the wreckers has XT130 LCA's can you lettuce know please. Im after some for my AE86. Wheres the wreckers located? Luke Sorry mate an RT40 is a late 60's Corona. The XT130 is late 70's. Not what you are after.

  15. There is an RT40 in a wreckers yard down here in Melbourne that appears to be pretty straight. Its a U-Pull-it style so not sure whether they would be interested in pulling them off and sending them to you. I can go have a look if you are still looking.
