Welcome to TOCAU and to Team Silver!
-
OK, you started it.....
Sik wheels mate!
-
There is an S2000 in my car park at work and I always look jealously at his antenna.
Of course, I wouldn't steal it though.... ;)
-
Unlike the Melbourne crew, I'm up for runs any time, any place...
Paradox - I find the best way to "organise" a cruise is to ask Big Jon or Brian from TCC to do it :D . The last one was huge, 100+ cars including (this was my favourite) - a turbo NSX. I think Doctony was there at the start of the last one, but didn't cruise. I'm keen to get a good handful of Sportivos together at least.
No one will play with me!

Did Trevor at CES even fit this to your car????
if he didn't fit it.. and you got some random dude to fit it, trevor is not going to give 2 ****s.. he makes the system and fits it and when he does everyone gets a gain..
No he didn't fit it. Don't you think that if he cannot guarantee gains unless he fits it, and he is unable to fit it, he should not sell it?
Also, what possible reason could there be for differences in gains due to whoever bolts it up to the cat? I would suggest that unless it was installed backwards or something completely incompetent, that the gains are most likely to be the same whoever the technician.
-
Cheers for that Azza, it will be interesting to see the difference between the 2 stock stivos too, it makes some more sense, but I still believe will not give you a 100% definative answer, this will require you to get 5 stock cars, run them all stock, fit the exhaust then run them again, then you can find an average increase due to the exhaust only... But your plan looks good with the resources you are given... :D
Dude, I expect to arrive at an estimated sample size of n=5 per cell, that you have performed the correct power analysis using the mean difference and variability in power gains expected with the CES system?
If not, what kind of PhD student do you call yourself?
-
I hit lift (and the redline) at 50km. At least didn't do it out of the dealership like some....
-
If you change the wheels, it'll no longer be stock and you'll need a new name and signature...
-
My Eibach's dropped about 38mm front, 45mm rear - which was good, as the car sat higher at the back anyway. The price was a lot higher than for Kings, but I get German quality...
-
Welcome forum noobs, especially the team silver rookies.
-
Can't you just take off the a/c belt? You'd still have a weight penalty, but it would be much easier to re-commission next Summer...
I've never really looked closely so excuse my ignorance, but is there a separate altenator belt or is it all in one? If there's only one belt for both a/c and alternator, it would be more stuffing around finding a replacement belt, but as everyone acknowledges - well worth it for the gains.
-
I would look at that site, but I'm afraid you might force me to join up as a member. :P
-
Welcome! Not sure I can help you much and it seems you have already identified who you need to talk to on the forums. Good luck, and keep us all posted on your progress.
-
"New Rolla Cruise" I'd be up for that!
Paradox - I think you just dobbed yourself in as organiser.
Bluey, welcome to TOCAU.
-
Also www.toyotacarclub.net, similar to Toymods.
-
Just goes to show that the ECU is continually learning and adapting. It also makes sense that the best gains are seen with a CAI.
Did you go to QLD or order from CES?
-
stop
(for the love of dog)
-
This whole debate is moot. Obviously everyone has opinions, but until we can compare a t/c and s/c Sportivo, who knows how they will compare?
It seems there are some brave/wealthy souls out there getting the s/c kit together, anyone volunteering to add a snail to their 2ZZ ??
-
Took my rolla in for a service last week and went looking through the toyota car lot, and had a real evil idea. dunno if its possible but how about a 2.4 camry engine in a corolla <_<
Yeah great - spend mega $$$ doing a conversion to fit an engine that is (1) heavier, and (2) less powerful (despite more torque).
3. If your talking about those heavy **** 99 - 2000 model sportivos I wouldn't even bother charging them. they weigh a ******load and not worth the money. Unless you talking about the new 04 onwards sportivos. Then go turbocharged (based on revs). mmm yummy yummy boost!
The 99-2000 Sportivo was turbocharged from factory.
-
****, you are right. I need more sleep...
-
OK,
majority rules. Thanks for your input.
-
Dude, I never claimed it was mine. If you posted it, then all the kudos is for you...
Thanks!

Hi all,
here's the list of "older" current SA-based members:
Hodgie (Red Sportivo), kick_ass (Blue Sportivo), oz_viking (Silver Sportivo) - we are all around the NE Suburbs.
I think there's a Toyota Car Club cruise soon - I'll post in the club meets/events section when there's more details available.
-
Jesus Craig, are you on commission??
I'll get around to it sooner or later.
