  1. welcome-bl..dy great cars they are stable at 160 too
  2. best to call toyota themselves(hq) they will be able to answer all yr questions
  3. congrats - i am sure you will enjoy as much as we all have some pics would be good cheers
  4. to a previous post regarding taxi's most taxi's are dedicated gas, they come from the factory(ford and holden) with stronger and more suitable valve stems, seats etc, another reason they get so many miles without too many probs is maintenance and they are usually left running most of the time. most aftermarket gas systems start on petrol and shortly after switch to gas automatically, obviously dedicated gas does'nt just my 2 cents worth also the aurion imo is exceptionally good fuel wise so i would'nt bother with gas cheers
  5. the rear of the kia looks very ford mondeo-ish
  6. 99% of modern cars do come with a clear coast finish from the factory. the 'clear coat' your dealer is talking about is just the clear coat protectant stuff - a polish. they try to rephrase it different ways so it sounds fabulous, but its the same old. thanks matee, sorry took so long to reply-only just seen your reply thanks again and cheers corey
  7. Load of crap. The fuel pump ALWAYS sucks from the bottom of the tank (as that is where it sits), so if there is sediment there it _will_ suck it up, even with a full tank. This is why you have fuel filters, to stop that crap getting into the engine. Generally you're recommended to not run below a certain amount because of the possibility of starving the fuel pump (even with baffled tanks, this can happen), as well as the high-pressure EFI in-tank pump relies on the fuel to lubricate it (so if it runs dry too much the pump gets rooted). If the pump starves long enough you'll get a significant reduction in fuel-rail pressure, and that can make you run lean, which is not good for the engine (nor the catalytic converter either) the etc was what i meant with additional damage being done. only stating whats in the book plus what mechanics have told me.
  8. Also knowing you are not running the tank right down to zero and getting all the crap from the bottom of the fuel tank aswell. I actually work in the fuel industry ( not at a servo ), and the amount of crap in fuel nowadays is unheard of. its reccomended not to go below 1/4 tank because the pump will suck the s..t into the fuel filter blocking up etc,i try to always fill around the 1/4 mark just in case. regarding the crap in fuel these days does,nt suprise me at all,i would suggest to stay away from woolworths/safeways outlets as i have been caught out with dodgy fuel on more than 1 occasion and that was with diesel in my old ute, always if possible use a highly frequented station as the turnover keeps the fuel fresh etc. most dealers will usually tell you to stay away from certain stations as well if you ask. cheers
  9. the book says 70 litres so i would asume it is,also my light comes on just above the empty mark and if i fill it up asap the most i have been able to get in is about 56 litres and that includes filling right to the neck like you would with a diesel cheers again
  10. just my 2 cents worth, i would'nt fully the electronic gauges as they have built in margins for error etc,my fuel light also comes on with at least 10 or more litres in the tank. the way i judge my fuel economy is to fill the tank the same way as much as i can and use the km,s per litre theory. i fill the tank till it clicks full and then add to the nearest dollar, work out the economy this way a few times and you will get a reasonably accurate reading. in regards to fuel economy the average i get which is mainly highway driving and probably 10% hard throttle driving is around the 9litres per 100 mark which i find reasonable at the moment. everyones habits are different so each engine/gearbox will be different cheers corey
  11. should be interesting next year with 26 or maybe 28 cars on the grid. also williams has brought up the discussion of having 3 cars for teams as long as the 3rd driver is inexperienced(ie) no mikey for ferrari, what does everyone else think. also i think meccachrome is back in the hand s of renault
  12. still wouldnt be 100% accurate though, all speedo's are out by a couple of % cheers
  13. no need daryl, engine etc is still the same-just cosmetic changes is all besides i'm the 1 left behind-lol,we have only had ours for 3 months cheers corey
  14. agree-i know pk felt hard done by but what he did is a dog act and no-one or team will ever trust him with anything again,if his old man buys a team as has been reported he may be back. the sport is definitely changing for the better now, ronnie boy gone, now flavio and pat,who i wonder will be next????? just my opinion
  15. i like but they look more like a hyundai, with a bit of ford, hope they come in better colours too
  16. Yeah it says it the manual that the sensors don't work when travelling over something like 10 km/h i better slow down a bit then-lol i have'nt even read the instructions yet even after 3 months-lol i tend to follow instructions when i can't work it out etc cheers
  17. the dealer we bought our car from offered us two care packages, not sure exactly was in each but did include tint and a clear coat for the paint 1st package was 1500 2nd package was 2000 either way i thought they were just a extra income source for the dealer and didnt bother,if i wanted a clear coat i would take to panel beaters and pay them directly, would probably be cheaper anyway. p.s-i thought most cars came from the factory with aclear coat -please tell me if you know as i am interested in knowing for sure thanks and cheers
  18. i have the same system-it is a toyota system that is installed at the dealers,we had instructions etc with ours plus the toyota warranty stuff i have found when reversing fast there will be no beeps at all, when going slowly it is fine,i would say anything over 10km's in reverse the sensors dont work jusy my 2 cents worth cheers corey
