  1. I installed two head rest screens (no DVD player) when I installed my new Head Unit (see the thread here). Used a coat hanger and some good luck to thread the cables through the seat back, and then have run them up and in to the centre unit. Soldered in to the bottom of the cigi lighter for power, and ran the video cables inside past the gears stick to the Head unit. Only problem with that is that the sound can't be put just through the screens, the HU sends it through the car speakers. Does anyone know any way around this?
  2. I posted this on another thread awhile ago. Hey Spider. I found this thread for great help with Igo8, and a few awesome update files. You do need to sign up to see the links though, but the guy who created this thread, is like the GPS equivilent of DJKOR. http://www.austech.i...feb-2010-a.html You just need to register on that sight to see the links.
  3. I photos of them, but just at home. Was to busy playing with my new toy over the weekend. I will try to post them tonight, buty probably will over in the thread titled "Another Head Unit".
  4. I installed mine over the weekend, and it arrived about 5 working days after I purchased it on ebay. My setup included hooking it up to two new headrest screens that I also bought from ebay ($200 delivered, bloody awesome!). The headrests were the hard bit, as it involved soldering to get the power from the console cigi lighter to the units. (now if only I could get the sound to be able to go directly to these screens, so the kids can use there headphone!) I need to give massive thanks to both DJKOR, for his fantastic guides for replacing the HU, and for giving me a quick personal message to ease me through the soldering (made my neighbour do it btw). I have no experience with car electrics, and the headunit replace was very simple. DJ's guides gave the confidence to attempt this mod. And that saiys a lot as I get scared when I have to jump start a car! I big thanks also needs to go to TRDCELICA, for his emails and support with most of the Headrest install. Thsi was the hard part, and he is a bloody champ. Thanks guys.
  5. Hy DJKor. I have ordered on one the units from eBay's Autome tonight (and one for my wifes new CR-V). Do you have the image for step 10. I am very nervous, as I have no experience with this stuff, but am a little confident from the ease other owners has shared with there install. Thanks
  6. DJKOR, you rock sir! Once I finish with this, I can move on to my one and only allowable external modification. Racing stripes and a big stormtrooper head decal.
  7. So the USB is pretty crap? If I burn the AVI files to a DVD, they run ok? Thanks heaps for all the help.
  8. Hi folks. Me and my wife have been keeping good eyes on this thread for a while, as we think the AUSPACK unit would be an excelent entertainment unit to keep my two kids entertained on our long family trips. My question is, does anyone know if you can take the video and put it on to either a roof mounted screen, or to headrest screens? I have tried to read all the posts on this thread, and saw a mention of a Video out, but is this at the rear of the unit, or at the front? Anyone have any experience or info they can share? My 2nd q is, what is the maximum size USB Hard Drive folks are running with this thing? We are looking at using a USB powered 320gb HDD that is currently full of kids movies and music. Anyone know of any problems with this? Tax cheques just came in, so we are keen to proceed to the purchase phase. Also, just a shout out to you guys who are helping so much on this thread (and the forum in general). You have made both myself and my wife very confident in even looking at replacing the standard unit. So again, thanks.
