  1. Sorry to hijack this thread, but I'd like to get something clarified about taillights, and it seemed silly to start a new thread. I've got a '07 Sportivo SX6, and I've cracked the rear right tail light. Been looking for a cheapish replacement, but only ever finding the $400 full kits, or decently priced (~$200) ones. But the cheaper ones state that they are excluding Sportivo and TRD models. I thought it was due to a different shape or fixture inside when mounting them. But is the difference purely one of tint? So I could get a cheaper light, then get one of those film strips to tint the light again? Would MUCH prefer that than having to fork out an extra $200 :s
  2. Awesome, thanks mate! Sounds the goods. A little worrying that you found the NAV a little underwhelming, but also sounds like it's better than others you've tried! They used officially licensed maps, correct? Had some experience with trying to update my old unti with some "free" maps, and it just caused the whole NAV section to bite the big one! What do you mean that the 4s didn't work? As in, you don't have one to try? Or that it wouldn't work fullstop? What was the eBay seller your friend used? Might go scope out their prices ;)
  3. Hah, that's fair enough! Why don't we condense it down to: How does the system perform overall? Is it smooth all over, or does it have its rough spots? How's the Bluetooth quality?Browsing and playing of iDevices any good? Or badly organised and hard to look through? If I can grab this one cheap and you give it the seal of approval, it might be a Father's Day present to myself!
  4. Drew, I've got a few questions for you if that's ok? After having this unit in your car for a while, how's it holding up?How's the transition between menus, and then jumping into the GPS maps? What's the quality of the maps, is it a smooth operation, or does it jump, lag and take its time to do anything? How's the browsing of iDevices for music? Is the browsing of playlists and general music fluid? Is the Bluetooth (for phone calls) pretty good quality, or is it scratchy and hard to connect? This is a bit of a stretch, but do you know if it has any problems connecting to the iPhone 5?As you can tell, I'm after something that doesn't stutter, lock up or let me down, like my current unit. If this thing is as good as it looks, then it might be in the running for a new replacement!
  5. The Android would be interesting, should only be as laggy as a phone (IE, not much), given the specs, although I've had no exposure to Android 2.2 But coming from his same manufacturers, after the issues I've had with this unit, I'd be hesitant. And again, no guarantee of charging an iPhone 5 (if I ever get one) Vent, have you come across any other units that have caught your eye?
  6. Yeah, that was it. It worked well for the first few months, but the screen got decidedly "touchy" on where it wants to respond to presses, Bluetooth just stopped working, audio glitches out, and don't get me started on the maps (to be fair, that was probably my fault, as I tried to upgrade to a better version, that I obtained legally and above board ;P ). The maps now will not open, gives me some Windows error. Given that my iPhone is showing its age, and my contract is up soon, I figure I'd ask the question, seeing I'll be moving to a new iPhone device at some point in the future. And seeing as I heard about aftermarket headunits in this forum to begin with, thought I'd ask the question here again :)
  7. Howdy guys I was on here ages ago, when there was a group buy going around for a particular and hyped aftermarket HU for the Aurion. That unit is ok, but not fantastic. Maps no longer function, the Bluetooth is all screwy, firmware updates don't do anything, and the seller has long since stopped answering any questions I'm ok with getting another unit, but my old iPhone 4 is looking worse for wear, and when my contract is up in September, I'll be moving to the latest and greatest iPhone 5 (or whatever is out at the time). HOWEVER, the new charging style of iPhones is that small 9 pin connector. Has anyone had any success with having their iPhone 5 charging off their HU? And are they still able to play music back through the cable? Also, what is the current top of the line aftermarket HU that people have, or are looking into? Not after anything super expensive, but something reliable would be nice. I've found people who've recommended these headunits, not sure on their iPhone 5 compatibilities http://www.digoptions.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=AVN11TC http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/Specific-Car-GPS/Toyota/D5164.html
  8. NICE Getting amped up for this unit. Then comes the fun bit, installing it! Going to have to find that installation thread!
  9. Just confirming that the money will be hitting my account by Monday at the latest (have to transfer it out of a non-linked account, could take a few days) So I'm in for the group buy! Unfortunately, I'm in Sydney, so local pickup isn't an option :P
  10. Sorry guys! Forgot to set this thread to watched. Let me confirm the funds are accessible, and I will post up a yay or nay before I head to bed tonight. But if I am in, I'll be looking at the base unit and the reversing camera
