  1. Hi all, I have searched high and low over the internet and haven't managed to find anyone else that has mentioned this issue in the past. In the past couple of days I have noticed a constant dull thud every couple of seconds which I first assumed to be some fatal mechanical problem but after doing a walk around noticed the headlight clicking back and forth. I've now noticed that the headlight beam is pointing very low and can only assume there is a motor driving the headlights up and down to compensate for the angle of attack the car is driving at. I have since confirmed watching the headlight beam while parked at night jumping up and down with each tap of the headlight. Has anyone else experience something similar and/or have any suggestions on how I can fix it? Would appreciate any help. Thanks Ken
  2. Have had the unit installed in new Levin ZR. Unfortunately seems to be either an incompatibility in the wiring or a mistake by the installer as it does not detect the handbrake being on/off and assumes off, thus half the features are disabled as it thinks I am in motion all the time. Besides this it is significantly awesome. Will put it out at some stage to see if it has a rear USB port as would like to run cabling to my phone cradle if it does for charging/ipod control. Is the first Toyota unit I have had which supports the iPhone with all features except Messages.
  3. Hi guys, Anyone know anything about these new T.E.C.H units that are coming with higher model Yaris? http://www.toyota.com.au/yaris?WT.ac=Toyota_GlobalNav_Cars_Yaris#tech-audio-system for reference re what it is. Am curious if the units have a rear USB port, im doubtful but hopeful. Cannot seem to find any info re these things at all anywhere.. Cheers
  4. Be warey with the ones from China etc.. These "cheap" aftermarket units are often full of bugs as I encountered. My unit skips first 1 second of each track, never remembers where it was at when turned off, crashes GPS frequently, shows time at 7:093 when it is 7:09 ... just a lot of fail..
  5. Hi Jazz, The GPS is alright, you can change the GPS software if you can find something better but the lock is pretty much straight away. The installation was easy, took me about 10 minutes, is plug and play so only requires you remove the old stereo (4 bolts and 4 screws) and reattach the brackets to the new one and put it back in the dash with oem cables.
  6. Not too worried about on the go, so long as I can park some place and tune in that'd be more than sufficient. Its not a feature im desperate for, but its got an icon on the main screen and id rather be able to tap it and not have it whinge that no antenna is attached. :) Thanks for the ebay hint, ill take a look and see if I can find anything usable. It's a shame it cant just work off cars antenna, would make it a lot neater.
  7. Hey there... Am thinking of getting a GPS as well.. can you post some pics to see how it looks in the new ZRE... thanks... Hey, I'll post some pics later on, it looks factory really except that the software running on it seems a little cheap, is OK once you get the hang of it but many options out there. I like the system Whitey got except that its blue backlighting which I was too fussy about.
  8. Hi folks, I am after some ideas re installing an analog TV antenna in a ZRE Corolla. I'd really like to be able to hide it, even if signal isnt that great, it has to be better than nothing surely. Anyone have any ideas where to buy besides online, eg Jaycar etc? Help me if you can! Thanks
  9. Woot! Have my GPS/DVD etc unit installed. Looks 99% factory, although the user interface isnt as stylish as a factory unit might be. Still I am very happy!!! Now my question to all those out there, im not 100% sure if its analog or digital tv as no antenna was supplied... has anyone install lets say for example an analog antenna and managed to hide it somewhere that isnt noticable? Also if anyone has any good ideas where to get one of these, cant seem to find much on ebay except larger whiz-bang antennas ... Cheers guys
  10. I have to admit, after trying to talk to these guys about postage etc etc they really like avoiding the questions. I hope now that my unit comes quickly so I can forget all about them. Fail
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT Bit of a steal, not sure why everyone gave up bidding so early.
  12. I picked up a different one of ebay which has orange backlighting so should fit in much nicer. Will post some more info whenever it arrives.
  13. Installed so quick, was it difficult? Im looking at getting a similar one probably next week and although ive done a heap of stereos in the past most have been on older cars that were slightly easier to hack apart.
