  1. Hi all, I have a 2008 Toyota Aurion that currently has one of them ebay DVD units in it. I purchased a Kenwood DDX4031 to install into the car. Thinking I would need a steering wheel control harness to keep my steering wheel buttons working, I purchased one of them AERPRO plug and play systems. Actually this one here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Aurion-Camry-2007-STEERING-WHEEL-CONTROL-HARNESS-ISO-PATCH-LEAD-/251052798514?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a73e9b232&_uhb=1 What I have now realised is that the Kenwood DDX4031 apparently has 'Direct OEM wired remote control' which means I did not need a separate control. Seeing as though I have already purchased the AERPRO unit; and it is apparently a 'plug and play unit' meaning I don't have to cut and splice into anything, I am wondering whether I can just use the AERPRO unit with the Kenwood, even if it has its own built in steering control system? Also if using a steering wheel interface do you still need to ground the pink wire to keep the 'display' Button working? Cheers,
  2. Thanks for the feedback guys. I was planning to install the relay just next to the actual air compressor in the engine bay. What I wanted to do was tap into the main power cable that powers up the amp, and run a wire from that into a push button near my steering wheel. Then I would just need to run one wire from the push button into the engine bay to the relay. Does that make sense? It sort of does in my head? Edit: instead of tapping into the main power cable, would it work better if I just tap into the trigger/remote cable?
  3. Hi guys, I am planning to install an air horn this weekend and was hoping to get some advice regarding whether I am correct in what I plan to do. I will be connecting the airhorn to a seperate 'push' button as I still want to keep my OEM horn untouched. Here is the plan, using a relay: - Tap into my amplifier power cable, and run a wire into a push buttom switch. Then run a wire from the switch to pin 86 on the relay - Ground pin 85 on the relay - Run a power cable from battery through a fuse to pin 30 on relay - Run pin 87 of the relay to the '+' of the air horn compressor - Ground the '-' of the air horn compressor Does this sound right? The instructions that came with the horn were not very detailed, and involved tapping into the wires of the OEM horn which I do not want to do.
  4. Sorry to bring this topic back to the top. Last weekend I finally managed to take the Sportivo for a nice run thru Old Pac, I have to say i was very impressed. It was so smooth and powerful going around the corners. I can't wait to get a new set of tyres and take it for another spin, although the current ones do appear to have a lot of life in them yet.
  5. At first I thought WTF no. However, as I look at them more, they are sort of growing on me. Main thing is you like them.
  6. Do you place the gear in Auto/sports mode when hitting the twisties? Funnily enough I have not taken my car through the twisties since purchasing it last year, I hope to head out this weekend and have not thought about whether to manually shift up and down or just leave it in S or D.
  7. Only avoid it when going uphill in the wet, as I learned today :P
  8. Yeah but i mean, did they scratch it, break it, destroy it completely? I love how some places have a big name yet a ***** reputation.
  9. Amp and sub installed *does happy dance* The amplifier sat nice and neat underneath the passenger seat.
  10. What do you mean by 'ducked' your front bar?
  11. My reasons: it looks aggresive, sporty, and pretty fine all round. It is comfortable, has the right creature comforts (electric gizmos). It drives nice and smooth, has decent fuel economy, yet when you want the power it is simply a matter of putting your foot down.
  12. Because charcoal is evil right? I wasn't flirting with her, I didn't even mention that I work in propane.
  13. Don't worry DjKor, I do every time I am greeted with the TRD engine bay when I hit the GPS button on my headunit :) Now that I have exposed my inter webs fantasy crush, lets all go get some propane :P
  14. I went to the tattoo expo yesterday, got some ink on my back, I hate the first two weeks of getting a tattoo. Sticky, scabby, uncomfortable....This hill is now mine?
  15. The streets in my neighborhood are narrow, but people driving their cars like trucks does not help. I mean seriously, whats with the huge turning circles some people take, it's a tiny car you don't need to swing into the opposite lane just to take a turn. The amount of times this week I have had to swerve/quickly stop due to morons swinging into the opposite lane is ridiculous.
  16. nokia n97 is not a bad phone. Good camera, plenty of internal memory, and it has a button key pad.
  17. I suggest disputing it, what is the worst that can happen. Try your luck, you never really know with these things.
  18. Don't listen to these guys, it really does work ............
  19. Same thing happened to me, I just pulled out the 'radio' fuse from the fuse box in the engine bay, and it reset the the unit.
  20. Hi all, I have a steel-mate two-way paging car alarm installed in my old Mazda 323. The alarm has been playing up and I want to disconnect it. The alarm does not have a back up battery, if I disconnect the power cable/wire to the alarm module/ecu, will the alarm be bypassed? I want the car to run as if the alarm is not there. Appreciate any replies. Cheers,
  21. FWIW I didn't save them, dragged the photo into to a new window and laughed my ***** off :P
  22. Cool pics, I really laughed at the names given to the pictures.
  23. I got a set for my birthday :P Me and my old man installed mine in like 15 minutes :D
  24. As CHASA said, the factory warranty is still valid as long as genuine parts are used. However, the dealership I bought the car from gave me 3 years extended warranty on the condition that I had the car serviced by them, and that is what I forfeited.
  25. I guess I'll be the different one here and say that I have never had any of my cars serviced at a dealership, nor do I plan to. Like I have said here before, I gladly forfeited my extended warranty by having my own mechanic service my Aurion. Then again I do have a very trust worthy mechanic. For me I feel like there is something not right about having the dealership service my car, but then again thats just me.
