  1. I have noticed that where the tips fit on to mufflers, there is plenty of noise, and thats where a lot of the droning problems happen, sound reverberates into the open areas inside the bumper etc. would double wall tips or as I have seen tips with glass packing sort this out if they were welded on to the very end of the mufflers ?
  2. Do you know PaintTech out Moonah/Derwent Park way? They're on Sunderland St just down the road from Pickles Auctions, on the opposite side on a corner. They are mixing me up some paint to suit. From the color swatches they had, we managed to find something almost dead on exact. I don't expect it to be a very noticable difference. If you swing into PaintTech, ask for Peter and tell him you want the same color he mixed up for Chris at Bellchambers. thanks Chris I will check it out. I dont think it will do much for the armrest part, but it will be good for touch up for the main console.
  3. Ok I give in, after seeing Daryl's photo I am more inclined to like these lights. maybe it was the sudden change to these lights that put me off. good work guys.
  4. that is the go, I will look into one of those when I get back from my holiday. thanks
  5. Last call anyone with an aurion in cairns I will be looking out for you this sunday till next sunday.
  6. being in my car as often as I am the silver finish is starting to look second hand, especially the rear of the console where the armrest slides (Im always moving this part) those prices quoted for replacements are scary, so any fix for this is welcome.
  7. The idea of having a cat on only one bank and then the main cat after the merge doesn't really sit well with me. Personally, if you were to remove the cat from one bank, you may as well remove the other and get an O2 sensor simulator. Just all personal opinion really. It would be good to get a simulator, but it was easier (not essentially correct) to remove the cat from the rear bank and put both sensors on the front bank that still had the cat on it. the only niggle ive had with this mod is the buzz from the collector, being made from thinner material than the pipework. if anyone has a suggestion about thicker collectors please let me know.
  8. nope :P sorry forgot I deleted them when I ran out of download room.
  9. not sure if this will wor[attach men t=11934:sx6_mods_028.jpg]k.
  10. Finally a sound Im happy with, a sporty note where its needed and a nice purr down low, not the ear ringing drone there was. so it the end I have the "Y" pipe mod (minus the rear pipe cat) flex, main cat, small resonator, a 15 inch perforated hot dog down to the triple flow mufflers.
  11. I thought of using silicone too, but too messy, had some sealant used for tv antenna connections, has slightly less consistancy than "blutack" easily molded and easily removed if need be. I just rolled into a thin strip and placed it around the hole pushed the MAF into place, ensuring that it is sealed properly. so far to date no worries.
  12. have a poke around there may be something caught in the cogs, it would only take a very small object to jam it up.
  13. what colour car do you have ? just look at mine black on maroon, will give you some idea.
  14. well got the mufflers on, PEX TRIPLE FLOW, and while the sound quality is better, still got that bloody drone !!! not as bad but still annoying me a bit, going to slip in a long fluted dog monday to hopefully fix it. also I have got some flexible hose and gone from an SRI to a CAI down in the guard. was looking at the mesh pattern next to the foglights, was thinking to knock centers out for more air. I will resist this cause I will prolly wreck it !
  15. That was a very interesting reveiw, not scared to bag their own product.
  16. muffler update, got a pair of berklee chambered mufflers, only cant get them fitted till thursday, im impatient ! getting a muffler collection in the shed, 2 standard and 2 redback straight through, probably suit someone who hasn't taken out the resonator. will post results thurs night.
  17. Find or make an image, trying to be respectful of others and keeping a conservative size (150-175px vertical is a good number), and them upload it to a hosting service like ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or TinyPic. Then you take the direct url link (ending in .jpg) and inset it into your signature through the control panel with the IMG HTML code like so: [img=http://djkor.com/external/image/Signature-TOCAU-5.jpg] thanks again daryl.
  18. I drilled the hole with a hole saw, and put some sealant around the edge, placed the maf in place and drilled a couple of holes for the screws to keep it in place. I did the same with the plastic parts I originally had on it, but it looked untidy after a while , the chrome covered plastic was scratched and stained, the aluminium will be easier to keep clean. (I hope).
  19. the last 2 times it has come on Ive been in a straight line on either of our bridges, could wheel alignment come into play?
  20. sorry bit lazy to look, trying to post and cook kids tea. lol
  21. I thought the same when I had different type of tyres on, slightly different rotating speeds, but even though I have same tyres now, not so sure. maybe the fact with the Y pipe mod and O2 sensors close together on the same pipe and a cat missing off the rear bank might set it off occasionally, could be anything. going to get trans serviced soon I might get them to put scan tool on it if its on that day.
  22. being a dumb a*#e on a computer how do you put pics under your signature ?
  23. Got sick of the plastic modular bits to make my intake. so I made a new one piece intake with a 45 degree bend aluminium intercooler pipe, still want the K&N but this will have to do for now, new chambered mufflers hopefully tuesday.
  24. mine still pops up once or twice a week, not worried it goes away, it seems to appear not when you are doing anything out of the ordinary, but when just cruising casually, but like I said it goes off after a few starts. just annoying to press the readout button while its on.
  25. The only thing is, there is a black and a white ZR6 I see regularly in my area and those tailights stand out like dogs nuts on those, but on silver perfect.
